2025 StarSports/TRC Greyhound Derby winner Droopys Plunge trials at Nottingham tonight

2025 StarSports/TRC Derby winner Droopys Plunge has been booked in for a solo trial this evening over Nottingham’s 305m distance as part of his preparations for a crack at the Arena Racing Company Select Stakes over 500m, which takes place on Monday 25th August at Nottingham. 

Runners for the £12,500 to the winner one off race will be selected by the Greyhound Writers Association (GWA) on Thursday 20th August, with the trap draw being made a day after on Friday 21st August.

Prior to that, the Arena Racing Company Puppy Classic over 500m kicks off on Monday 11th August and host of interesting runners also line up in trials before racing this evening.

Fresh from his JR Racing Juvenile Classic success at Towcester last Sunday, Romeo Alliance lines up in a solo trial over 500m for Janssens, as does the runner up Not So Steady, also trained by Janssens.

Dave Mullins sends up a team of three over the 500m, including another finalist from that Juvenile Classic contest at Towcester, Santas Amigo.

Kevin Hutton also sends the useful looking Kranky Drake, who caught the eye with victory at Towcester on June 15th but was withdrawn from an engagement on June 22nd with a cough
