Another four for Young at Hove
Thursday night at Hove saw the Paul Young kennel pick up four open race winners from the eight on offer.

Sperrin Mist produces Hove run of the night
The Paul Young kennel are in flying form with their open runners at present, a four-timer at Hove last night giving them 12 winners from their last 24 open race runners.
Sperrin Mist took top spot from their four, improving on the already impressive debut that she had made last week. She had shaped as if there was plenty of natural improvement to come and her 29.10 success marks her down as a pup to follow. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for Young to give her a step up in class.
The final of a standard trophy was brought down to five runners after the withdrawal of Young's Droopys Alldeway who would have gone off favourite, the kennel landing the pot with Bowmers Wildcat. He was helped by the normally quick starting Playit Cool Trig missing it a beat, the winner quickly in control of the outside before putting the race to bed down the back.
Phoebes Buddy took the final race of the evening. She had missed four months of race action after being knocked out of the PCS Legal Puppy Trophy at Towcester in the heats when five lenghts behind Annadown Warrior. It took her a while to get on top last night as Sussex Cyclone had hit the front looking to continue her smart recent form, but the winer was too strong late on.
The market spoke for Frankys Bullet who was sent off 1/2 in his contest, one that had looked rather more competitive on paper than that price would have suggested. He left it even later to get on top, scoring by a short head after surging up the straight to grab the spoils. It was only his second run for Young and is another who shapes as if there is plenty more to come.
There was a cracking clash on paper between Candolim Typhoon and Bella Bullet in a 695m contest, the pair sent off joint favourites. It was Derek Knight's charge who came out on top to make it four straight wins over the track and trip, with the Regency finalist doing no more than give gallant chase to the winner after she missed the break.
David Dark was on target in the first open of the night with Ballydoyle Toby. He came away best in a race where the break looked an all-important factor in the outcome. Once he had led up Carrigoon Milo, there was never going to be a way back for the favourite, with the winner coming home more than three lengths to the good.
Exotic Princess had a couple of smart types against her but she too took a flier from the traps which allowed her to poach an unassailable lead for Carl Gardiner. She has won three of her last four races now and four from six, so she is in the form of her life at present, with this the best time that she has produced so far.
There was also a winner for Jason Heath on the card in the shape of Burrows Nova. He is just out of puppy status but very much still looks like a raw, work in progress, showing plenty of middle pace but requiring a bit of track craft. Connections know the family as they had a litter sister to his dam in Burrows Ruby who was a 14 time winner for them, including a couple of opens.
Pasha dominates at Newcastle
Just the two opens at Newcastle but those in attendance were treated to another staying masterclass from Jimmy Fenwick's Zenith Pasha who followed up his Nottingham win with another impressive success. At odds of 1/12, that was to be expected, getting to the front in the early stages and winding things up from there to come home nearly six lengths to the good over his nearest rival.
A 480m contest on the night went to Tom Heilbron's Glengar Phantom. He had made the semi-final stage of the BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby, but with track specialist Naochra and Heilbron's Romeo Liberty in the contest, the winner was allowed to go off at 7/2. With the benefit of hindsight, it was a crazy price as he came away well to produce a 4.54 split to win from the front.
