Cat One and Two action galore this weekend

There are four Category One contests over the next few days as well as a couple of Cat Two. We have updated prices for each of those currently in running as well as outright prices from the sponsors Corals ahead of the opening heats of the Regency and Sussex Cup on Saturday evening at Hove.

Time Northern Flat

This evening sees the semis of the Northern Flat where Jimmy Fenwick looks to hold a very strong hand. Three of the top five in the outright market represent him, so a couple the decider would not be any surprise.

5/2 Woltemade

5/1 Bockos Buster

8/1 Droopys Bookem

10/1 Wicky Ned

11/1 Zenith Tanju

12/1 Grouchos Cossie

14/1 Naochra

18/1 Ballymac Buddy

20/1 The Other Kodi

25/1 Deerjet Rocket

28/1 Droopys Link

33/1 Droopys Sort

40/1 Saleen Ri

50/1 Kellies Emerald, Mossend Brute, Slingshot Louie

100/1 Ballymac Sargie

Arena Racing Company Angel of the North

The other semi-finals at Newcastle this evening are for the bitches where Slingshot Poppy is a very short-priced favourite outright. There is no doubt that she is head and shoulders above these at her best, so hopefully she can show her star quality again this evening.

4/11 Slingshot Poppy

10/1 Untold Ariary

14/1 Coppice Sapphire

16/1 Fabulous Show

22/1 Newline Kelly

25/1 Blackhouse Kim, Droopys Calla, Mossend Gala

33/1 Bluebell Teddy, Elegant Shadow

50/1 Fabulous Harmony, Travel Safe

66/1 Ballymac Camilla, Proper Rockett

100/1 Fabulous Hanna, Fabulous Kira, Fabulous Leona, Witton Gucci

British Bred Puppy Cup

A couple of short prices in the Dunstall Park finals on Saturday night, kicking off with the Category One event for pups. Tom Heilbron's Romeo Astron made the decider of the puppy competition at Sunderland as well, while Harton Whirlwind made the final of the Gymcrack.

8/15 Romeo Astron

5/1 Harton Whirlwind, Keefill Sequoia

20/1 Aero Clipper

25/1 Untold Dinero

28/1 Bonville Kane

Arena Racing Company Stayers

Bluejig Outlaw has looked imperious in this competition so far, no surprise to see him a short price in this final. Eagles Respect is a Category One winner in his own right and should have a say, but it is going to need to be a big run to topple the favourite.

1/2 Bluejig Outlaw

7/2 Eagles Respect

10/1 Venetian Mick

14/1 Bandit Paddy, Droopys Scratch

16/1 Malcolm Bosh

Coral Regency

The opening round of the Regency is on Saturday night at Hove with Sean Parker taking the long journey down to the south coast with ante-post favourite Droopys Flare. She has an interesting field against her, including Corn Cuchulainn finalist Lennies Desire for Pal Hennessy.

Plenty of other interesting ones with each way potential here, including Chasing Rachel stepping back up in trip having shown so much promise in her early runs over 712m at Towcester, for all that she has landed a very competitive heat.

7/4 Droopys Flare

10/3 Lennies Desire

7/1 Carrick Scholsey

9/1 Bubbly Evie

12/1 Tooreen Rose

14/1 Croydon Rory, Powerhouse Duke

22/1 Fabulous Heka

25/1 Bella Bullet, Bombshell Bullet, Face The Storm, Marshmallow Moon

28/1 Droopys Deploy, Teddie

33/1 Burrows Charm

40/1 Bonus Bullet, Bowmers Buddy, Bubbly Amber, Deadly Disco

50/1 Chasing Rachel

66/1 Radical Story

100/1 Brideside Belle, Droopys Rhona, Newinn Ginger, Underground Jim, Unthinkable

125/1 Art Riddler

150/1 Bubbly Flame, Bubbly Holly, Farneys Tilly, Minstrels Six, Reality Power, Swift Jarvis

200/1 Grouchos Bogger, Mongys Grace, Scarty Mel

Coral Sussex Cup

It's a pair of runners for Patrick Janssens at the top of the Sussex Cup market with the girls on top in the early prices with Fabulous Aria ahead of her kennelmate Droopys Graph. Blackstone Opera won the Brighton Belle over track and trip in the spring, she could be another to strike a blow for the girls. Avarua Zlatan has found his form again over four bends of late and is a decent price given he was a Ladbrokes Gold Cup finalist 11 months ago.

11/4 Fabulous Aria

9/2 Droopys Graph

6/1 Tiffield Tarquin

9/1 Blackstone Opera

10/1 Bubbly Hogan

12/1 Raebella Bullet

14/1 Droopys Assured, Moving Force

16/1 Smokestack Saxon, The Other Chief

20/1 Behemoth, Copney Queen, Droopys Alldeway, Westwood Shay

25/1 Alright Buddy, Droopys Extragud, Droopys Invent, Teejays Buddy

40/1 Avarua Zlatan, Gingers Layla

50/1 Alright Arthur, Bowmers Wildcat, Dunbolg Formula

66/1 Burrows Fizz, Jacktavern Chief

80/1 Farneys Tearaway

100/1 Finchogue Fury, Glenrock King, Noelles Glenlo, Ower Cracker, Young Freddie

125/1 Foxwood Christy, Poppadom Tom, Sussex Cyclone
