Arena Racing Company Cesarewitch

24 runners will line up in the four heats of the Arena Racing Company Cesarewitch on Saturday night at Central Park. The bookmakers make this a straight fight for outright glory between Mongys Wild and Droopys Flare.

Garfiney Blaze looks to become the first dog to ever win the Cesarewitch for a third time. His second win in 2025 saw him join Future Cutlet as a dual winner of the race, that greyhound doing the double in 1931 and 1932. No other greyhound in history has won this race more than once.

13/8 Mongys Wild

15/8 Droopys Flare

9/1 Deadly Disco, Romeo Empire

12/1 Garfiney Blaze

25/1 Ballymac Madgie

66/1 Crafty Prospero, Princess Matilda, Two Spot

80/1 Capel Moon

100/1 Aphantasia, Billis Wizard, One More Tune, Swift Jarvis

125/1 Bullseye Bill, Harlequin Taluka, Marvelous Mazel, Reality Power, Rockmount Rosie

175/1 Bombay Hilda

200/1 Azzas Angel

250/1 Bregogue Rachel, Burgess Sophia

300/1 Havana Esesque

Heat One

2/5 Mongys Wild

5/2 Deadly Disco

10/1 Ballymac Madgie

20/1 Capel Moon, Swift Jarvis

33/1 Bullseye Bill

A huge clash in the opening heat as the recent George Curtis and Ballyregan Bob Memorial first and third take one another on. In Ballymac Madgie, Capel Moon and Swift Jarvis, the big guns face three seriously in form rivals, with the market suggesting that only one of those are going to make it into the semi-final draw.

Heat Two

1/5 Droopys Flare

8/1 Princess Matilda

10/1 Billis Wizard

16/1 Harlequin Taluka, One More Tune, Reality Power

A finalist in 2025, when sent off the 5/4 favourite in the decider, Droopys Flare is back for another crack at the Cesarewitch. On paper it looks a task that she should complete with a margin in hand but there are some smart types in there with her who will be looking to at least make the draw for the following week.

Heat Three

4/9 Romeo Empire

2/1 Garfiney Blaze

10/1 Crafty Prospero

20/1 Marvellous Mabel

33/1 Blackmount Rosie

50/1 Havana Esesque

The dual champion lines up in heat three alongside Romeo Empire in what will be another fascinating clash. There are few stronger stayers in here than Crafty Prospero who came home well over 664m on his most recent run at the track and looks certain to be suited to this longer trip.

Heat Four

11/10 Two Spot

11/4 Aphantasia

5/1 Bombay Hilda

8/1 Azzas Angel

10/1 Brerogue Angel, Burgess Sophia

The only one of the heats without a top contender for overall glory in it which will lead to connections of all six contestants thinking that they have a chance of making a Category One semi-final. Maxine Locke has the favourite here in Two Spot who got the job done over 664m last week.
