Entries close at 11am on Friday for the 2025 ARC Puppy Classic at Nottingham.

£12,500 is up for grabs as the top four-bend youngsters compete over the four-bend 500-metre tip at the Colwick Park venue.

March On Freddie from the Dave Mullins kennel took the prize last year with an empathetic ten-length success in 29.28, with No Better Feelin back in second.

Previous notable winners also include Ice On Fire (2019), Ballymac Eske in 2012 and Top Savings in 2001.

The competition was inaugurated in 1995 with the event only open to puppies, aged under two years of age.

Previous sponsors include Coldseal, William Hill, Carling, Caffereys and JenningsBet.

The first-round heats will take place on Monday, August 11, with the semi-finals a week later.

The £12,500 final will be held on Monday, August 25.

This evening three trial stakes races take place with the Patrick Janssens-trained JR Racing Juvenile Classic 1-2-3 Romeo Alliance, Not So Steady and Romeo Ability all lining up.

Other notable runners this evening in the trial stakes races are Ballymac Shontae, on debut for Jimmy Fenwick at 7.27, and Kranky Drake, who lines up from T4 in the third trial stakes race at 8.01 for trainer Kevin Hutton.
