Following on from a thrilling night’s action at Central Park on Saturday, October 11, which saw semi-final wins for Texas Jack, Acejukeboxpopper and Romeo Tomcat, let’s take a look at the draw for the £20,000 to the winner Category One final, which will take place on Saturday, October 18. 

Bombay Pat heads the outright market at 13/8 with Unibet, Ladbrokes and Coral. Romeo Tomcat is next in at 11/4 with Ladbrokes and Coral with Ladbrokes Gold Cup winner Headford Dane on offer at a standout 3s with Skybet and Paddy Power. Texas Jack is only 4s in a couple of places, but bet365 are offering 6s about the Richard Rees-trained Hove raider and that price will surely come under threat over the coming days. Zenith Imminent is 33s (BresBet) with Acrjukeboxpopper the outsider of the field at 40s with bet365.

Run over the four-bend 491-metre trip the PGR Kent Derby will see the winner collect £20,000 with a total prize pot of £25,000.

Supporting opens on finals night will include the Maiden Trophy, PGR Marathon, Novice stayers, and PGR Puppy Trophy. Entries closed at midday on Tuesday, October 14. Also featuring on PGR Kent Derby finals night will be the Premier Greyhound Racing Sprint Trophy final and Premier Greyhound Racing Bitches Trophy final.
