Six heats of the BetGoodwin Pall Mall take centre stage on Saturday evening, and it promises to be a cracker with a star-studded line-up. The competition was won in impressive style last year by the Richie Taberner-trained Aero Sacundai who recorded 26.52, beating Long Fellow who finished second.
Notable winners from yesteryear include Rishton Mac (1954), Mile Bush Pride (1959), Pigalle Wonder (1958) and more recently Links Maverick in 2023.
Moving onto this year’s event, Kent Silver Salver winner Rioja Oisin catches the eye from the Kevin Hutton kennel in heat three, as does Singalong Rex in six heat. Rex recorded a 26.57 trial over the four-bend 450-metre trip last week in a trial and could be one of the main players in the outright market.
The first round heats take place on Saturday 12th July with the semi-finals on Saturday 19th July and the final a week later on the 26th.
