Betting update – Coral Sussex Cup and PGR Regency at finals at Hove

Following on from the semi-finals of both competitions, let's take a look at the betting markets ahead of the final that takes place on Saturday evening on Gone To The Dogs – Live!

The Premier Greyhound Racing Regency semi-finals on Saturday evening saw Garfiney Blaze (41.57), Art Riddler (41.56) and Mongys Wild (41.12) winning the heats, with Droopys Invent, Romeo Empire and Bombay Nutty also booking their places in the Category One final worth £20,000 to the winner.

PGR Regency final (Coral)

Mongys Wild 2/5, Romeo Empire 6, Garfiney Blaze 6, Bombay Nutty 10, Art Riddler 16, Droopys invent 50.

Romeo Empire looks well-drawn in T2 and the Patrick Janssens-trained February 2023 son of Romeo Magico would be a runner on the bunny. All eyes will then be on where Mongys Wild turns, if he’s within striking distance its race on. Bombay Nutty is yet to ping the lids over this six-bend 695-metre trip, he looks well-drawn out in T6 with Droopys Invent heading for the rails from T5. If Nutty pops out, he could be the value in the race.

Proper Heiress 1/2, Slick Sentinel 7/2, Chelms Bear 8s, Queen Shakira 8, Ower Mystery 50, Quill Quids 50.

All eyes on the break, if Proper Heiress brings his trapping boots, he will prove hard to beat in his bid to land another Category One success. Slick Sentinel is a class act and has a chance from T6. Chelms Bear could attract support at 8s. He was a recent 3 Steps To Victory finalist at Sheffield and running he’s at the top of his game for trainer Craig Morris.

Coral Sussex Sprint Trophy

£3000 is up for grabs as the sprinters line up in the Category Two Coral Sussex Cup Sprint Trophy final on Saturday.

Queen Sinead runs from T1 for Central Park trainer Liz McNair. Shadow Storm is in T2 for Richard Rees and Dorking Wanderers manager Marc White. Yahoo Megan runs from T3 for Star Sports / TRC English Derby winning trainer Patrick Janssens. Michelle Brown goes into the final with a live chance with middle seed Roanna Mamba in T4. The second of the Liz McNair-trained runners is King Presley from T5. Kent Silver Salver finalist Ballinakill Liam runs from T6 for trainer Mark Wallis.
