Following on from the first-round heats of the Premier Greyhound Racing Kent Derby, let’s take a look at the betting markets ahead of the semi-finals which take place on Saturday, October 11, over the four-bend 491-metre trip. 

As ever, it’s important to shop around for the best prices on offer. Bombay Pat heads the outright market following his impressive first-round win with the Graham Holland-trained Irish raider a general 2/1 chance, but you can get 5/2 with bet365 with the Stoke-based firm going a standout price about the 2025 English Greyhound Derby finalist.

Next in is Ladbrokes Gold Cup winner Headford Dane, trained by Maxine Locke. Skybet and Paddy Power go 11/4 about the August 2023 son of Ballymac Bolger who impressed in the first-round with a quick-away-made-all success in 28.75.

The Patrick Janssens-trained pair Romeo Tomcat (5) and Romeo Alliance (6) are next in with the bookmakers, with kennelmate Not So Steady fifth in the outright market at 16s with Coral. Burrows Charm stayed on well to in the first-round heats to record a 29.26 victory. The Jason Heath-trained Hove raider is a general 20s chance with the firms. Burrows Eclipse in on offer at 20s with Texas Jack next in at 22s, its then 33s bar.

For those looking at each way options, bookmakers are offering 3 places in the final and a quarter the odds. Zenith Zultan, trained by Richard Rees, is a 33s chance with bet365 yet only 25s elsewhere. Kennelmate Zenith Imminent is on offer at 50s with the same firm, with Star Sports going 25s about the Hove based runner. 

The draw for the semi-finals of the Category One Premier Greyhound Racing Kent Derby can be seen below. Two from each semi-final will qualify for the final. The £20,000 to the winner, Premier Greyhound Racing Kent Derby final, will take place on Saturday, October 18. 

The first-semi final of the PGR Kent Derby looks wide-open with plenty in with chances. The 50s on offer with bet365 for outright honours about Zenith Imminent could look excellent value with the Hove raider traps well and leads round on Saturday evening. Another from the Nevill Road circuit with leading claims in Burrows Charm from T2. Texas Charm looks well-drawn out in T6 and could appeal at 22s with Ladbrokes in the outright market. 

Heat two of the PGR Kent Derby will take place at 8.36 on Saturday, October 11 and all eyes will be on the break. Can Romeo Alliance grab teh rails and lead round from T2? If he does the 6s on offer with bet365 in the outright market will look huge. Bombay Pat is a worth favourite from T5. The Graham Holland-trained wide seed recorded 28.63 (-20) in the first round following a 2.99 sectional, of he brings his trapping boots again he's the one they all have to beat. 

At 8.54 all eyes will be on the clash between Headford Dane in T2 and Romeo Tomcat in T4. Both impressed in the first-round heats and are capable of going all the way in the Category One competition. Burrows Eclipse could go under the radar from T5. The Jason Heath-trained Hove raider bolted up in the first-round winning by 11 lengths in 28.62 (-20) and would be a danger to all with a ping break on Saturday evening.
