Its no surprise to see Droopys Kathleen at the head the market following her flying 27.87 track record run in the first-round heats. Kathleen will run from T4 in heat four of the PGR Oaks on Friday evening at 8.13. The bookmakers are taking no chances about the Robert Gleeson-trained Irish raider with BOYLE Sports, Unibet, Ladbrokes and Coral offering 4/5 about the May 2023 daughter of Droopys Sydney.
Strike It Syke is next in at 5s with Bresbet. The Sheffield based bookmaker are a standout price with the Mark Wallis-trained youngster on offer at 7/2 and 4s elsewhere. Well-drawn in T1 in heat six of the Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks that 5s with BresBet might come under some pressure over the coming days.
As ever make sure you shop around for the value, especially when play the fancy prices each way. Whisky Elsa for example is on offer at 33s with William Hill but you can get 66s with Unibet and 50s with bet365.
Kelvins Hat is a 20s with bet365, Star Sports, Ladbrokes, BOYLE Sports, Coral and Betfred but 33s with Skybet and Paddy Power. The bookmakers are offering quarter the odds and first four places in the final.
Key dates for the diary:
Second round heats will take place on Friday, October 10, with the semi-finals a week later on Friday, October 17. The £20,000 to the winner Category One final will take place on Friday, October 24. Tickets can be purchased – HERE.
· Final: Friday, October 24, 2025
· Venue: Dunstall Park Greyhound Stadium
· Distance: 480 meters
· Prize: £20,000 to the winner
Heat one of the PGR Oaks second round will see Raebella Bullet take on Meenagh Minsk. Bridefort Lady looks well-drawn in T1 and the Nathan Hunt-trained railer could be the value in the race. If you fancy Bridefort Lady for outright honours bet365 and William Hill are offering 66s.
Droopys Doris and Droopys Eunice clash in heat two of the Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks at 7.06 on Friday, October 10. Both impressed in the first-round heats showing nice early pace into the corner. Kilwest Diva (100) and Beatties Lyra (100) are others in with a shout. Easy Molly is a 33s chances for outright honours and could attract support.
Paradise Sky was beaten at long odds-on in the first-round heats when picked up late on by Easy Molly. The September 2022 daughter of Dromana Bucko will come on loads for that run following a layoff since late August. If you fancy the Brian Thompson-trained Monmore raider take the 33s on offer with Skybet and Paddy Power, that looks solid value.
Heat four of the PGR Oaks second round at 8.13 will see Irish superstar Droopys Kathleen line up from T4. Following on from the flying track record run in the first-round heats the Irish raider is the one they all have to beat. Fabulous Aria looks well-drawn on the rails and the Patrick Janssens-trained daughter of Magical Bale can book her place in the semi-finals. Signet Nayla (T5) and Ballymac Kinga (T6) can both show nice pace into the corner if they get it right at the boxes.
Draws win races and Aero Becks has a cracker to work from here with a vacant box on her inside. The Richie Taberner-trained daughter of Droopys Sydney impressed over course and distance last week in the first-round heats showing nice pace into the corner and down the back. Signet Morgan challenged but couldn't reel catch Becks. Morgan re-opposes on Friday from T3. Whisky Elsa runs from T5 and is worth noting in the market. If you fancy the Nathan Hunt-trained middle seed in the outright market snap up the 66s on offer with Unibet.
All eyes on Strike It Skye in the sixth and final second round heat of the Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks at 9.23 on Friday, October 10. The Mark Wallis-trained youngster showed huge pace down the back straight last week and looks a major player in the competition outright. If she traps well and holds the rails all eyes will be on the clock. Betfred and William Hill have clipped Avongate Venus into 18s and 20s respectfully. You can still get 25s with BresBet in the outright betting market - HERE.
Tickets for the Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks heats and final can be purchased via the official Dunstall Park Greyhound Stadium website.
