BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby final racecard 

The BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby final takes place tomorrow evening at 9.24 with Cheap Sandwiches priced up at 8/15 by the sponsors. 

The stands and restaurants will be packed out with racing fans from far and wide traveling to the Dublin venue on what promises to be a cracking night's action. 

At 9.24, all eyes will be on the boxes, with six lining up in the €125,000 euro to the winner final over the four-bend 525-yard trip. Doors will open at 4pm with the BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby final and Plate broadcast live from Shelbourne Park on Virgin Media 3.

This year’s renewal, back in the traditional August-September slot following a five-million-euro investment in the stadium, has produced plenty of twists and turns along the way with English raider Proper Heiress adding an extra flavour to proceedings as he looks to become the first winner from England since Toms The Best in 1997 for legendary trainer Nick Savva. 

Derek Frehill, Director of Racing at Greyhound Racing Ireland, said: “Saturday’s semi-finals had everything, speed, drama and sheer brilliance from our top contenders. Performances like those from Cheap Sandwiches and Glengar Silent show the very best of our sport, while the depth of talent in this year’s final is exceptional. The decider promises to be a truly memorable occasion at Shelbourne Park.”

It’s an intriguing race and the draw has thrown up plenty of questions that will be answered tomorrow evening. Magical Mag has shown plenty of early pace in the heats and looks the likely leader on the rails. If the December 2022 daughter of Ballymac Cashout traps in best fashion and leads round can Proper Heiress mount a challenge and hit the front by the third bend? Can Cheap Sandwiches ping out from T5 and make all?

Glengar Silent shows huge pace down the back straight. If the Pat Buckley-trained middle seed turns within striking distance, he’s a huge runner. Although well beaten by Cheap Sandwiches in the semi-finals, Barefoot On Song produced a 3.38 sectional in the second-round heats when making all, a repeat of that would give him a chance, bet365 go 50s about the Paul Hennessy-trained railer. Don’t rule out Droopys Deploy, available at 25s with sponsors BOYLE Sports the Robert Gleeson-trained wide seed stays on in taking fashion. He will be making his move down the back straight looking to hit the front late on.

At the start of the competition, Cheap Sandwiches was on offer at 18s with PricedUp. Well done to those that grabbed that. Proper Heiress was a general 25s chance with Bresbet going 28s about the Mark Wallis-trained railer. Magical Mag, Barefoot On Song, Glengar Silent and Droopys Deploy were all available at 40/1 or bigger ante post.
