2025 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby - Proper Heiress, Bockos Diamond and Ballymac Axel trials 

The draw for the 2025 Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby will take place tomorrow, then all eyes are on the first-round heats, which will take place on Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23.

Ahead of the first-round heats, English raider Proper Heiress had his first look around the track on Saturday, August 16, as highlighted by Ian Fortune on X. The MWD Partnership-owned Proper Heiress is a 25s chance with competition sponsors Boylesports as he looks to add another success to his glittering CV which includes multiple Category One finals in England.

Over at Curraheen Park, English Greyhound Derby runner-up Bockos Diamond recorded a 3.36 sectional and 15.98 clock to hallway around the Cork track. Bockos Diamond is a current 4s chance with the sponsors to land the €125,000 first prize.

Another English raider heading to the BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby is Ballymac Axel from the Maxine Locke kennel. Axel clocked 29.75 around Shelbourne Park on Friday, August 15 following 3.46 and 17.25 sectionals.

The 2025 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby Final will take place on Saturday, September 27. 

Bockos Diamond heads the market at 4s with Callaway Knegare at 10s. Cheap Sandwiches is on offer at 12s with Faypoint Rangers and Lennies Desire at 16s.
