BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby  – opening round draw 

The draw for the opening round of the BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby took place at Shelbourne Park on Monday afternoon.

With a total of 144 runners, there will be 24 opening round heats with the first four to qualify from each, leaving 96 for the second round. The first round begins on Friday 22nd August and concludes on Saturday 23rd August.

Of the 144 runners, there are 98 inside seeds, 15 middle seeds and 31 wide seeds. Defending champion Bockos Diamond has been drawn in Heat 5 where he will wear the stripes. 

Dates for the diary:

1st Round: Friday 22 & Saturday 23

2nd Round: Friday 29 & Saturday 30

3rd Round: Saturday, September 6 

Quarter Finals: Saturday, September 13 

Semi-Finals: Saturday, September 20

The 2025 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby Final will take place on Saturday, September 27.
