Rein Back leads the way at Brandywell
Monday's Brandywell event featured the semi-finals of the Willie & Mary Edgar Memorial 500, organised by Patrick in honour of his father’s 100th heavenly birthday. Prior to the main event, a couple of sprint races set the stage.
Do It Bluff, trained by Andrew White, got us off to a great start by winning Race 1 in 16.96 seconds. It was an impressive debut by this pup. Meanwhile, Colm Sweeney’s consistent Mulroy Torpedo claimed victory in Race 2, narrowly defeating Mineola Rebel in 17.13 seconds.
Rein Back, the fastest in both initial heats and these semi-finals, secured a spot in the final with a win in 28.06 seconds. Despite a moderate start, he took the lead early when his main rivals Bows Hill Jet and Corcass Coyote tangled slightly at the first turn. Starcash Barry achieved his 17th career win in the second semi-final, clocking 28.30 after overtaking Roseville Bob on the back straight.
