Monday saw the annual Greyhound Data Gal Night at Brandywell Stadium where the highlight for many was Catunda Quinn landing her third straight win
Catunda Quinn celebrates Greyhound Data Gala Night with third straight win
The Greyhound Data Gala Night has become an annual event in recent years at the circuit and the Brandywell Greyhound Stadium was once more proud to host this prestigious night’s racing thanks to the sponsorship from Tony Gallagher at Greyhound Data.
Stephen Radcliffe’s Catunda Quinn (Ballymac Anton x Cabra Diva, Feb ’22) maintained her spell of good form by securing her third consecutive victory in Race 4, the Greyhound Data Discussion Forum 500.
Starting swiftly from trap 3, Quinn was initially outpaced, entering the back straight in fourth place. However, with an impressive burst of speed, she'd moved up a place at the third turn. Cleverly hugging the rail in the home straight, she surged past her competitors to clinch the win by half a length in a time of 28.43.
Among the night’s notable performances was Diegos Manna (Premier Fantasy x Sidarian Fern, Jul ’22), a specialist on the Brandywell Track and current leader of the ‘Dog With Most Wins’ league table at the venue for 2025.
In Race 6, the Greyhound Data World Wide Rehoming 525, he reminded us of his versatility as both a talented two & four bend athlete. Over this extended four bend trip, he still had plenty of stamina to hold off all challengers after breaking smartly from trap 1 to make all and win by two and a quarter lengths in 29.50. This was his 17th career victory.
Other race highlights included the career debut win of Shaun Eastwood's Dees Krona (Broadstrand Bono x Nialls Krona, Jul ’23) in the Greyhound Data Classifieds Sprint, clocking 17.39. Also, Vermont Winter (Ballyhimikin Jet x Wishful All, Nov ’23) impressed with a fastest sprint time of 17.06 in Race 3, the Greyhound Data Ask The Vet Service Sprint.
Gary Simpson’s Shesafunnylady (Good News x Imfine Imgrand, Jul ’23) and Thomas Mullan’s Promises To Keep (Droopys Sydney x Cantcallherthat, Jan ’21) rounded off the night with victories in their respective sprint races.
