Heat one of the BresBet Steel City Cup at 4.24 will see Droopys Trade line up from T1 for Patrick Janssens against No Better Feelin in T2 for Ester Driver. All eyes on the break with both runners strong on the bunny. Droopys Extragud is a consistent performer over four and six bends, and he will be staying on looking to grab a qualifying spot. 

Heat two at 4.42 will see recent Click Competitions East Anglian Derby winner Romeo Steel run from T3 for English Derby winning trainer Patrick Janssens. Romeo Steel is blessed with blistering early pace. If he gets it right at the boxes, he will prove hard to beat. Droopys Stat in T1 is an interesting runner from the Dimmock kennel. The October 2023 son of Droopys Sydeny bolted up at Dunstall Park on his last run, clocking 28.35 from the front. If he brings his trapping boots on Sunday he could be the one to challenge Romeo Steel down the back straight. Arthur Minute (T2) and Timmys Hunter (T6) are both capable sorts and can fight it out for a place in the next round. 

The third heat of the BresBet Steel City Cup at 5.01 on Sunday, October 5, looks wide-open with plenty in with chances. Can Ballymac Odin ping the lids from T4 and clear the pace on his inside? Will Keefill Goose leads round and make all from T5? Quill Quids (T1), Who Dares Wins (T2) and Deerjet Rocket (T3) will all fancy their chances with level breaks in a very competitive heat. Solo wide seed Romeo Missile steps up from graded company but can’t be ruled out given a plot draw to work from. 

In heat four at 5.19 Romeo Ability, who is third favourite at 5s with BresBet for outright honours, lines up from T4. Carrick Fergie is in T3, so Romeo Ability will need to trap well to avoid a bump early on. Jacktavern Chief looks well-drawn as the solo wide seed in the race and is worth noting in the market.
