British Performance of the Week - 26 October 2026
Another busy week of UK greyhound action saw the conclusion of three Category One finals, one reach the semis, as well as the start of another couple of top level competitions.

Three Category One finals last week
Another excellent week of action around Britain with Fortanach Col taking the first Category One title decided last week, claiming the Coral 100 Champion Stakes at Romford. It's an incredible stat that he has won three of them for Kelly Wilton despite only having 11 races in total for the kennel. He has made a big impression in a short amount of time, and shown he can do it on different track styles as well.
Dunstall Park saw the other two Cat One finals with Ballydoyle Tina and Avarua Lake taking them. A marginal nod goes to the former, not only because it is the bitches classic but her being just the third Irish winner of the English Oaks. The writing was on the wall to a certain extent when Graham Holland entered four but fair play to Slingshot Poppy who made a huge bid to take the prize back to Scotland with her.
It was the semi-final stage of the Doncaster Puppy Derby where Carrigoon Cece went fastest for Michelle Brown. The Coral Romford Puppy Cup winner has some serious early pace and clearly stays this far absolutely fine, even with it being a -40 track. She will start as the hot favourite for the final and is going to take some stopping in her current mood.
One of the top bitches in the country got her Coral Gold Collar campaign off to a breathtaking start on Sunday in Scooby The Lady. She was inches away from getting round the bend in front in the Premier Greyhound Racing Kent Derby final, and it would be a surprise if she was not able to make her way into another decider here.
There was a slow track to contend with at Sheffield where Annadown Shadow did the job well off the front end despite getting a fairly big bump on the way to the opening bend. He is a superb performer when he is at his best and the beating that he handed out to a Category One finalist in Grouchos Cossie was deeply impressive.
Nottingham saw another success for Barry Denby's The Other Kodi who made it 13 wins from 17 starts at Colwick Park. He also has wins on his card at Dunstall and Doncaster so he is far from a one trick pony, but this track does bring out the best in him.
There was a very taking debut from Amazing Chief at Central Park, suggesting that he is a dog to be followed. He is from a superb line and at just 19 months old, to stop the clock in 29.16 on a track subsequently rated -40 was a truly special run. Hopefully he can back that up against better dogs in time and fulfil his obvious potential.
Untold Dinero took the POW prize at Monmore with a second very speedy win at the Wolverhampton track from his last three visits. The Produce Stakes and BGBF Puppy Cup finalist is a very smart performer when he hits the lids as he did on Saturday night and although it is a long way off yet, he looks a natural around here for the likes of the Winter Derby.
Towcester saw some decent runs from Kevin Hutton-trained runners, primary amongst them being Jazzy Dancer. She had won well over the same track and trip the previous Sunday and had to dig deep and work harder than the odds-on price suggested. Six bends could well be the way with her in 2027 with plenty of stayers in the family.
Off to the north east now where Made To Measure was unconsidered in the market ahead of his UK debut at Newcastle but he quickly made the big odds look stupid. He had some solid form in Ireland which entitled him to respect, despite the fact that the field that he took on contained Naochra, Singalong Cherry and Fabulous Harmony amongst others.
At Sunderland there was a decent win on Friday night from Millhill May. She had been a while between drinks but she did manage to notch up a four-timer back in the spring, so it will be interesting to see if she is capable of getting back in the groove like that here and add another few wins in quick succession ahead of the start of the Classic.
There was just an extra meeting scheduled at Star Pelaw last week but with both Saturday and Sunday lost to the storms, they finished the week with one fewer than normal. Imokilly Tara was the pick of the winners from their Tuesday card with a solid enough graded win over four bends.
Who Dares Wins produced a pair of victories last week at Yarmouth, landing his POW winning A1 win on Monday evening before following that up on Saturday on a very slow track in an open when he beat his kennelmate Flashing Fender. He has now had seven starts since hitting veteran stage and won three of them.
It was not one of the opens at Valley last week that produced the POW winning effort but rather the D3 success of Seeking Times. He has been plenty higher than that in the past, winning opens at the track in both March and May, with this just his third run back from a couple of months off.
There was a new fastest time of 2026 at Kinsley as the track continues to run fast, with Knotmor Signet setting the new figures. She has been in excellent form of late, including a Doncaster open race win in a spell where she has scored in five of her last eight starts.
Harlow rounds out the week with the win of Dellser Sheeran. He was only scoring in a D3 but he was a deeply impressive winner of that contest, beating a solid yardstick in Pro Flo in the process. A lack of early pace stops him winning more but he has the speed to do so if he ever finds consistency with his trapping.
