Category One action returns to the London Road circuit Romford in October with the Premier Greyhound Racing Champion Stakes taking centre stage. The £20,000 to the winner will take place on Friday, October 17. 


Last year, New Destiny landed the prize by over five lengths with Noirs News in second and Golden Palace in third. 



During the month of October, Romford Greyhound Stadium will host a Welfare Day. Held in the Pavilion Restaurant between 11am and 3 pm on Thursday, October 16, guests will include Jonathan Hobbs, Kevin Lewis, Dr Lawrence Steed, Carly Philpott, Dr Christain Spring, Dr Ian Anderson and Kevin Stow.

Over at Central Park, the Premier Greyhound Racing Kent Derby will take place during October with the final on Saturday, October 18 with £20,000 up for grabs in the Category One competition. 


Droopys Display landed the event in 2024 with a track record 28.45 run in the final, beating odds-on favourite King Memphis who finished second.

All Hospitality and Winning Deal packages require booking in advance. It is advised that restaurant packages are also booked in advance as Central Park Greyhounds cannot guarantee walk-ins.


Trackside tickets for evening race meetings can be purchased at the turnstiles, but they advise booking in advance to speed up admission to the stadium. For morning meetings, booking in advance is not required.


Central Park Stadium accepts cash and card payments at the turnstiles, and the bars/food outlets. The tote is a cash-only service.



 

At the Owlerton stadium, Sheffield, all eyes will be on the BresBet Steel City Cup final on Sunday, October 19, with the Category One final worth £11,500 to the winner. 


Wicky Ned took the race in 2024 in a thrilling finish with Links Maverick in second, beaten a short head. It was half a length back to Bombay The Joker in third.
