Central Park cancels Saturday's open races
Dave Baldwin has announced that the open races scheduled to take place at Central Park on Saturday night have been cancelled.

No open racing on Saturday at Central Park
Central Park has cancelled Saturday's scheduled open races - the final of the Arc Standard Trophy apart - as a consequence of today's abandonment due to predicted high temperatures in line with the GBGB Hot Weather policy.
Dave Baldwin, Arc's head of racing (greyhounds), said: "We need the graded strength to have races and are conscious that cancelling Monday's meeting will be an additional issue bearing in mind the recent abandonments.
"Either way, giving our graded runners more opportunity to race is very much behind our thought process. However, we will, of course, be including the Arc Standard Trophy Final on the card. The heats of that 491m competition were held on Saturday.”
Heatwaves this year have already forced a number of postponements and cancellations and temperatures this week, especially in the south, are forecast to be higher than usual.
