The top Irish performances for the last week

The BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby reached the quarter-final stage and it was Cheap Sandwiches who produced the quickest of the four winning times. A finalist last year, he is going to be a very difficult type to keep out of the first three again on Saturday and make back-to-back finals.

It was Drumbo that saw the youngest winner of the week in Jolly Ten. He had already shown plenty of promise prior to that, second to the Lifford performer of the week prior to this. His litter sister Infortherun is already an open race and multiple A1 scorer at Yarmouth.

The Galway Oaks semi-finals saw a surprise where last week's winner Glengar Martha was knocked out. She was in the semi which went to Droopys Faithful who added her name to the top of the Galway tree. She has only had seven career starts, already finishing third in the final of the Time Juvenile Derby at Shelbourne.

Only two sprinters have gone quicker over 330y so far in 2025 at Curraheen Park than the 17.38 that The Other Aari produced on Saturday. The Irish Laurels kicks off at the track on October 11 so the quality of performances are going to be hot for the next couple of months at the track.

Sticking with sprinters, the fastest time over 400y at Mulllingar now belongs to Ohtherejack. Still a puppy, having just the fourth run of his life, he is a perfect 3/3 when he has raced at the County Westmeath venue.
