Romford Puppy Cup Final

First round Draw - Coral Romford Puppy Cup

Always one of the most anticipated competitions for the youngsters each year, the Coral Romford Puppy Cup kicks off on Friday with six heats.

The opening heat will contain one of the most experienced pups in the competition in the form of Ted On Fire. John Mullins's middle seed already has a couple of pieces of winning form at the London Road circuit and will be hoping that stands him in good stead.

Puppy Classic semi-finalist Droopys Alldeway sets the standard in heat two. His opening heat form at Nottingham when three and a half lengths behind Romeo Ability reads well in the context of this competition overall and he looks to have got himself a strong chance of qualifying with a win.

Vermithor has only got his head in front on one occasion so far but that was when sporting red as he does in heat three. He lost nothing in defeat chasing home Turnthemagicon at Monmore on his most recent start and shaped well in a look around this venue last week.

The ante-post favourite heads to traps in heat four with Magical Luka yet to test defeat in his career. He was 7/7 in Ireland and has added to that with a pair of wins over this 400m. 23.51 off a 4.60 would make him very, very hard to beat in the competition overall.

Although Crafty Santino was turned over at a short price on debut, she is one to look out for not only here but next year as well, as a three-quarter sister to Crafty Shivoo. She looked very promising back in May when making the final of a 400y competition at Dundalk which was won by Magical Luka and also contained subsequent Shelbourne Maiden Derby finalist Rolo Tokyo.

Plenty of early gears through the middle in the final heat with both March On Luna and Jazzy George setting identical sectionals last Friday night. Stormy Pat is a promising local who has been flying through the grades and looks well worth the step up into this better company.

BGBF Produce Stakes - 2nd round draw

The opening second round heat of the Produce Stakes could see Inca Lewie step up on his opening round effort. He finished third in his semi-final of the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers behind New Destiny and Gary The Arb before running into Romeo Alliance in his opening round heat here. Shes One Eighty was the quickest of these in the first round but she has a tricky looking draw.

Romeo Ability was mightily impressive in the heats last week after his track record run at Nottingham just five days before. It is going to be a continual battle between himself and his litter brother Romeo Alliance for litter supremacy and the pair meet again here, with the latter facing the widest draw of his career.

Berties Decision didn't quite get the rub of the green in his opening round heat but he should come on plenty for that second look around here. He has some very smart times to his credit at Oxford and a repeat of those 26.50s here would put him away and gone on the inside.

Eagles Respect and Signet Nayla were two of the most impressive winners in their heats on Saturday night and they clash in the final second round heat. Both have early pace to burn and it is interesting that connections of the former have already stepped their son of Tommy Shelby up to six bends.
