Dave Branch wins the GWA/Star Sports Derby tipping competition.
After the final of the Star Sports & Orchestrate Ltd English Greyhound Derby, it was Dave Branch who came out on top of the pile of 52 competitors.

Another Greyhound Derby is safely in the bank and with it another renewal of the tipping competition run by the Greyhound Writers Association along with Star Sports who kindly put up the prizes.
The winner was Dave Branch who runs DB Racing. He set off in front from the very first round of the Derby and even though some rivals came to challenge, Branch managed to hold them all off.
There was a tongue in cheek Oscar style acceptance speech from Branch on X who is a veteran of greyhound tipping competitions have spent so long running his own.
His competitions are always run for charity so anyone who wants to join in, the next one is going to be run over the upcoming Coronation Cup and Guys & Dolls competitions at Romford with entries closing on Wednesday, June 24.

Congratulations also to my ex Racing Post colleague Paul Brown for finishing second and to Liam Aspin, Joe Andrews and Peter Harnden for rounding out the top five prize positions.
There will be a few in the sport with red faces after some fairly moderate performances, with only nine of the 52 tipsters finishing in profit.
