Doubles for Cahill and Heath at Hove on Thursday
There was open race action at Hove last night where Seamus Cahill and Jason Heath both picked up a pair of winners on the evening.

Hove sees a pair of doubles on the card
Powerhouse Duke laid down a marker for Seamus Cahill in a 695m contest last night as one to follow over six bends. It was just his third try over a longer trip, making it a perfect 2/2 at this track. He stopped the clock in 41.86 off a speedy 14.02 split. Just 12 starts into his career, his best days should still be to come.
Cahill added another winner courtesy of Brother Patrick over 500m. He too was quick to take control of the race from the front, running out a comfortable winner. He is only a June puppy, so in very much the same vein, he looks one who is going to be competing at a higher level over the summer and into next year.
Jason Heath's double both came over six bends from Hopes Candy and Coolavanny Nancy. The first of those has taken some good steps forward since being stepped up in trip, and once more gave the impression that she can do better again once she is given more of a test of stamina.
The big surprise on the card came from Coolavanny Nancy at 14/1. Easy Tizzy had shot clear in the early stages but the winner moved off in chase past the stands the first time. There was still five lengths between them at the fifth bend with the relentless pursuit of the runner-up finally paying off on the run-in.
It was Dave Lee's Brunch Pal who produced the performance of the night, stopping the 500m clock in 29.01. He has shown strong form at Central Park and Romford already this year, making it seven wins in 10 starts for Lee. He could be the type to go well in the Derby for a long way.
Fantasy Alex has been a solid type for Belinda Green for a while now, producing one of his better sectionals to grab a win last night. He needed that smart break as Paul Young's Droopys Alldeway kept him up to his work the entire way around, with the pair pulling well clear.
Young picked up a winner of his own from Rapido Roisin who confirmed the smart impression that she had made last week. The wide runner has some smart early gears and limited miles on the clock. That combination can serve her well this year.
Perhaps a new winning streak was started by Alright Twinkle last night? David Lewis's bitch saw hers come to an end last weekend at Oxford after landing six straight contests but she was straight back onto the winner's podium in a 515m contest.
The night was rounded out with a win for Clairkeith Santi in his own race. Carl Gardiner's veteran had got his head back in front in an A1 contest the time before and built on that with a strong-running performance. Start number 100, it was a great way for him to bow out, we wish him a long and happy retirement.
Roberts is trigger happy at Newcastle
A single open was on the card at Newcastle last night where Droopys Trigger showed the best turn of pace to the bend for Savva Roberts. It was his fourth win from his last five starts, making it a perfect 2/2 since losing his puppy status at the turn of the month. Already the winner of eight of his 17 career starts, he is turning into a decent performer.
