Cesarewitch to kick off 2026 at Central Park

Central Park is building up to one of the first major competitions of 2026 - and is anticipating a very strong year.

New general manager Dovile Skapciute, who joined the Sittingbourne venue in the second half of 2025, reports a busy Xmas period and intends to focus on developing the track’s reach next year.

She said: “For 2026 we are hoping to put Central Park Stadium on everyone’s map, as a one stop venue for family entertainment, as well as for business functions and tailored events to suit everyone’s taste.

“Central Park is one of the best tracks in the industry and we are looking forward to welcoming our guests for all occasions - and especially for the racing which promises to be top notch, right from the very start of the year.

“The Arc Cesarewitch is one of the big early-season competitions and I’m looking forward to seeing it unfold for the first time.

“The racing office have already begun to take entries in and trials have taken place and booked in. We are expecting another high-class entry and Garfiney Blaze will be going for history as the winner of the event for the last two years.

“We look forward to welcoming connections of these top open-racers over the coming weeks.”

The Arena Racing Company Cesarewitch closes to entries at noon on Tuesday.

Heats over 731m take place next Saturday with the semi-finals on January 10 and the £12,500 final on Saturday, January 17.
