Droopys Kathleen heads to Lifford for their Oaks

Saturday will see the start of the BOYLE Sports Lifford Oaks

The BOYLE Sports Lifford Oaks will get underway at the weekend. Star of the show will be Droopys Kathleen who was beaten for the first time in her career at Dunstall Park last week in the second round of the Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks.

She will go in the opening heat for Robert Gleeson, looking to quickly shake off the disappointment of that defeat. She heads the early ante post betting for the event, which should come as no surprise given how short she was for Dunstall Park. The opening heat will see her in action.

Her main rival in terms of the early market is Patrick Guilfoyle's Magical Mag. Her spectacular run through the BOYLE Sports Irish Derby came to an undeserved end when she was knocked over in the final. Her early pace will be needed from a wider than ideal draw in the final heat.

There are few more consistent bitches in training in Ireland than Glengar Martha. The veteran will make her 80th start in heat three and is still performing to a very strong level for Pat Buckley. She will take on Westway Rossa who is half a point shorter for outright glory in that heat. Damian Maginn's charge missed out on a quarter-final spot in the Irish Derby by a short heat in a heat won by Magical Mag.
