Eagles Respect powers to Produce Stakes glory at Swindon
There was another short-priced favourite turned over in a Category One final on Saturday afternoon as Eagles Respect got the better of Romeo Alliance in the Produce Stakes.

Produce Stakes Glory for Angie Kibble
There was a surprise at Romford last night in the Coral Romford Puppy Cup final and Swindon served up more of the same on Saturday afternoon for the final of the BGBF Produce Stakes.
Romeo Ability went to the traps the red-hot 1/3 market leader but he was not the quickest into stride and appeared to stumble slightly early on. The one dog that none of the other runners would have wanted to see turn handy was the winner Eagles Respect but after a smart break, he ended up just off the early lead set by Berties Decision.
Once Kibble's son of Tommy Shelby has gone past that rival going into the third bend, the race was over. For all Romeo Ability's...well...ability, he was never going to be able to back run the powerful winner. 28.14 was the winning time.
We mentioned last week that Eagles Respect is likely to make his mark over longer trips next year. A Category One win over 476m might give him Derby plans depending on where the 2026 edition ends up, but it is going to be when he returns to six bends that he will surely to be seen to best effect.
Romeo Ability lost nothing in defeat, he has enjoyed an incredibly productive summer, things just didn't go to plan for him on this occasion. Malcolm Bosh ran on for third to make it a one-three for Kibble. He was the eyecatcher in the race, out with the washing off the second bend but he rattled home and as a litter brother to the winner, further surely beckons.
Berties Decision got the better of Malcolm Bosh in the semis last week and is another who lost nothing in defeat. She was showing that 450m at Oxford was probably as far as she wants to go for now prior to the competition, so it is to her huge credit that Rachel Hill's daughter of Signet Denver had a spectacular competition.
She faded to finish last behind Shes One Eighty who was fourth for Patrick Browne and Izzys Tenpin who came home in fifth place for David Mullins.
