On Monday afternoon it was announced by the Greyhound Board of Great Britain that the award for Best Dam of British Bred in 2025 goes to Fabulous Mila.

Fabulous Mila lands top brood award
The Greyhound Board of Great Britain announced yesterday that Fabulous Mila has won the Best Dam of British Bred award at the upcoming GBGB awards.
The David and Nicola Firmager team enjoyed an excellent 2025 and their brood produced dual Category One winner Romeo Alliance who landed the Juvenile Classic and the Puppy Classic on his way to a nomination as Newcomer of the Year.
His litter brother Romeo Ability was a multiple Category One finalist, setting a new track record at Nottingham over 480m before Droopys Aladdin took the crown off him.
Mila herself was an open race winner over 480m at Nottingham, 575m and 750m at Romford as well as the 714m distance at Crayford.
Mark Bird, CEO of the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, said: “Many congratulations to David Firmager on this Award – he has been a true champion of British breeding over the years and it is fantastic to see his continued success. British breeding hasn’t always been incentivised in the same way here so it is thanks to people like David and his team that this tradition is continuing and indeed, judging by the outstanding calibre of Fabulous Mila’s litters, is flourishing.
“Ensuring high standards in British breeding is a key aspect of our welfare strategy, allowing greater oversight of greyhound welfare throughout the early stages of their lives. We are excited to soon be launching a new British bred registration system, which we hope will make the process of registering British-bred litters easier for breeders and lead to more of our racers being bred in Britain.”
