Dunstall set for superstar clash in St Leger heat

Dunstall Park received 39 entries for the Arena Racing Company Birmingham Cup and 25 entries for the Premier Greyhound Racing St Leger, with six heats of the former and four for the latter scheduled for Saturday at Wolverhampton Racecourse for a superb big-race double-header. 

Droopys Flare, last year's second, heads the entry for the £20,000-to-the-winner St Leger over 715m, the stayers' Classic being hosted at Dunstall Park for the first time following the switch from Perry Barr and then, for last year only, at Nottingham when Mongys Wild triumphed. Sean Parker's bitch goes in heat three where she faces an intriguing clash with the top-class Vhagar, trained by last year's winning handler Mark Wallis.

Three-time Category One winner Woltemade eyes more big-race success for the Jimmy Fenwick team in heat five of the Birmingham Cup having most recently lifted Monmore's Gold Cup, while fellow Monmore finalists Headford Cian (heat one), Headford Dane (heat two) and Grouchos Gregor (heat six) are also returning to Wolvehampton for their next assignments.
