630m around Monmore just proved a touch too far for the stamina of Rapido Benny but he gave a bold sight in the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Classic semis, missing out by a neck on a slot in the decider. He was 2/2 at Star Pelaw over an easier six bends and has a 24.10 trial at this track over 400m. His four bend speed will be a potent weapon over 575m around here.

Annadown Wendy returns to race action for the first time since she was third in the final of the Arena Racing Company Puppy Trophy at Sunderland at the end of June. She trialled around here before she made her first start, clocking 24.16 before bumping into Gav Nificent on her debut which was also here. Stepped up on that form massively since and can improve on her Romford form.

At Sunderland, it could be that the best bet on the card is Millhill May. Savva Roberts's runner went under 27 seconds on her last run over 450m at this track, returning for a sprint last time out when she was beaten just a short head by Sunnyside Jayden. That is a very smart run over a trip too short returning from a month off, and this would be won with a similar effort.
