The quickest qualifier for tonight's Arena Racing Company Laurels semis was Droopys Aladdin, despite the fact that he wasn't as quick to stride as is so often the case with him. There is a sub 28-second run in him tonight if he comes away from the inside draw as well as he did in his trial here ahead of the competition. He can produce another strong performance to book his place in the final six.
Bombay Buck is carrying all before him at Romford of late, landing another slick win last week to supplement his success from the final of the Coral Golden Sprint seven days prior. He is back in the striped jacket this evening but that was not an issue in the semis of that competition, and another win is expected.
The move to the red jacket has seen Sams Magic add a pair of wins to pick up a hat-trick of them over the 480m distance at Dunstall Park. She has the same starting position this evening in her semi-final in a field where she should be capable of leading up the inside runners. There will be competition for the lead from the quick Toddys Wolf in four, but she can prove too strong for that rival from the three-quarters mark.
