INNFIELD FIFI rates as the nap of the day when the Paul Young-trained railer lines up from T1 in the Maurice Newman Memorial Marathon open race at 7.27 over the eight-bend 750-metre trip. Tonight, with a plot draw to work from the March 2023 daughter of Ballyhimikin Jet has a chance to turn with the pace. Although over the marathon trip it’s the break that will prove vital, its imperative that Fifi holds the rails and leads off the second bend. Craft Prospero rates as the main danger from T2.
The next best of the day is GOTHIC KITTY who runs from T5 in heat two of the Maurice Newman Memorial Marathon at 7.44. In recent weeks Kitty has won three times over this 750-metre trip, all from when leading round. Tonight, if the Michelle Brown-trained middle seed traps in best fashion, she can hit front early on and make all. On the bunny, Kitty is a 47.20 type of performer, a repeat of that will see her take this.
The third and final selection this evening is PARADISE SKY (T2) in heat three of the Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks at 7.39 from Dunstall Park. Last week in the first-round heats, Paradise Sky was caught late on but that was her first competitive run since late August. The Monmore raider will strip fitter for that outing and will prove hard to beat this evening if she gets it right at the boxes. Lilys Bullet will be staying on well from T3 and can grab a qualifying spot in the next round.
