The 2026 Category One and Two schedule has been released by the GBGB's race planning committee, with some changes made, including the addition of more sprints at the top level.

2026 Schedule Announced
The GBGB race planning committee have released the 2026 schedule of Category One and Two finals.
There are some notable additions which include a much better sprint schedule which will start with the Sandy Lane Sprint at Oxford in March. It is one of four Category One sprint contests which are on the schedule, a massive increase on the one that we have had in recent years.
Double headers are still plentiful which provide some outstanding feature evenings of racing throughout the year. The Entain tracks continue to lead the way with these.
More excitement comes from the boost of the Untold Stewards Cup moving up to a top level competition for the first time to give Star Pelaw a Category One event.
GBGB’s Racing Operation Executive Louise Warr said “2026 will be an exciting year for the sport of greyhound racing with a whole host of events taking place to celebrate 100 years both on and off the track and we wanted an open race schedule that reflects this.
“My thanks go to the Open Race Planning Committee, promoters, sponsors and tracks for their cooperation in putting together a comprehensive programme that perfectly showcases the diversity and talent that our sport has to offer. It looks to be a busy but thrilling year ahead.”
