National Greyhound Week - Hove restaurant winner announced

Greyhound Week has come to a close and what a week it’s been, writes Kate Dexter! We’ve loved shining a spotlight on the gentle, graceful, and lightning-fast Greyhounds that make this sport so special.

A huge thank you to everyone who liked, shared, and shouted about Greyhound racing, your support means the world and helps keep the spirit of the sport alive and thriving.

Special thanks to Gone To The Dogs and Hove for teaming up to offer a fantastic prize: a table for four in the restaurant on a Thursday evening!

To all our supporters, whether you are long-time fans or new to the track, thank you for being part of the celebration. Let’s keep the momentum going and continue to champion these incredible dogs all year round!

The winner was announced last night is Bill Champion, a manager at William Hill. We asked Bill a couple of questions of why he likes Greyhound racing and has he been to Hove before?

"I have been going Greyhound racing for years my dad introduced it to me as a kid first to Catford, Wimbledon, Romford and Hove it's a brilliant sport and fun for all the family! I have been to Hove a few times and I will be bringing friends we go horse racing and greyhound racing together I work in the betting industry so really enjoy the sport. I enjoy thrill and shear fast paced action that you get at the dogs, the dogs themselves from Westmead Hawk to Bockos Diamond"

We also asked If you could describe greyhound racing in a few words and why the younger generation should get involved with the sport?

"Fast, thrilling, edge of your seat! The younger generation should get involved it's a cracking day/night out where the dogs are the main attraction, friendly tracks a place the whole family can go."

Special congratulations to Bill, thank you for your support of the industry and for helping us champion greyhound racing. Enjoy your prize and a fantastic night out with friends at Hove!
