Saturday's Tips

It's a trip to Doncaster this evening for the semi-finals of the Category Two, Yorkshire Derby.

Saturday's Greyhound Racing Tips

*** 7.42 Doncaster - Romeo Topcat (3pts) 2/5

** 7.58 Doncaster - Scooby The Boss (2pts) 15/8

* 8.16 Doncaster - Newinn Sharky (1pt) 6/4

The best bet of the evening is a short price but he was so impressive in the heats of the Yorkshire Derby last week. Romeo Topcat had shaped well in a trial prior to his 29.01 demolition job, with both Keefill Goose and Jacktavern Chief who re-oppose tonight behind him. Both are entitled to get closer as neither got the clearest of runs but Patrick Janssens's charge should be well on top where it matters.

Another impressive heat winner last week was Scooby The Boss for Nathan Hunt. He is the only railer in this second semi, with Naochra to his immediate right liable to move off a touch to give the selection plenty of room on the inside. Slick Sentinel and Turnthemagicon should have a great buckle for the lead out wide but they can set it up for the next best.

A third and final selection from Doncaster is Carol Weatherall's Newinn Sharky. He was in against the likes of Romeo Empire last week around here and with the greatest respect to his rivals tonight, there is nothing of that quality against him here. Like Scooby The Boss, he has a perfect draw on the rails for him to exploit.

Across the Irish Sea, there are the semis of the BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby. Cheap Sandwiches would look to have a perfect draw outside of five railers in the first of those, while Magical Mag can continue her march to the final with another one of her slick exits to take control in the second semi.
