Peter O'Sullevan Lambourn Open Day 2025
Greyhound Homing UK are proud to be heading to Lambourn on Good Friday, April 18 to spread the word on homing retired greyhounds at one of the biggest and popular open days in the horse racing calendar.
Six-time champion trainer Nicky Henderson is one of the handlers to open his doors and it is at the famous Seven Barrows stable that Greyhound Homing UK will be from 9am until midday. In the afternoon the team will move to Stand 5 which is by the main arena for the entertainment from 1pm until 4pm.
The arena will see a mix of show jumping, dog agility, shetland pony Grand National and even a space hopper race. A huge deal of thanks to Gail May and Clare Conley who will be at the event along with some greyhounds who are searching for their forever home. Even for those who have been around the sport for a long time, who can resist a greyhound cuddle? Those who have a retired dog already can take them along to help show what wonderful pets they make.
Other stables in Lambourn that will be open include that of Paul Attwater. The former greyhound trainer attached to Poole is now the master of Newlands Stable, one of more than 20 yards which will be open to the public during the morning. Nicky Henderson's yard is out on a limb towards the north of Lambourn so make sure that you leave plenty other time to visit the stable and see the Greyhound Homing UK stand as well as some of the biggest stars on the national hunt scene.
All the information for the day can be found on the Lambourn Open Day website where you can find a map to help you plan your way around the yards as well as where the main arena is in the afternoon. You never know who you might bump into!
