Greyhound Trader.com Doncaster Yorkshire Sales Catalogue- Friday 15th August
Greyhound Trader.com host their next Sales Auction at Doncaster next Friday Morning, with trials commencing at 10am
The full sales catalogue can be found here
As usual there is a good mixture of Greyhounds of all abilities, from race winners to complete novice puppies
There are 48 Greyhounds set to trial, the youngest of whom are just 14 months old. There are three June 24 whelps from the same litter, one dogs and two bitches, who are due to trial. The two bitches are Even Break in Trial 4 and Fast Track Lady in Trial 14, while the dog Hold A Dream lines up in trial 20. They are out of a litter from King Elvis x Avenue Ana and unsurprisingly, all three haven't a mark on their card
As is often the case with these Sales Auctions, there will likely be plenty of attention paid to the three Greyhounds trialling who have made their way over the Irish Sea with the famed "Droopys" prefix.
Trial 22 see's a pair of litter siblings lining up against each other. Droopys Freeze, a March 24 daughter of Droopys Flytline x Droopys Hunch, takes on her brother Droopys Package, with the pair of them without a mark on their cards, while the other representative is one with race experience. Droopys Itch is an October 23 whelp out of Ballyhimikin Jet x Droopys Gifted and has had three races at Shelbourne and Newbridge and lines up in Trial 24.
That trial could also be of interest for those looking to buy a race winner. Move Over Connie won her only start at Cork on July 25th in 28.80 and this August 23 could prove to be of interest to some.
Hows That, lining up in Trial 21 is also a winner of his only previous outing when winning by 8 lengths at Shelbourne Park in 29.19 and this October 23 whelp is another who could prove popular in the market.
Greyhound Trader are set to play host to another of their monthly online auction's this weekend.
In total there are 20 greyhounds forming a high-class catalogue, with eye-catchers of note including PAIN BARRIER (former Kirby finalist), TULLIG NAVALNY (28.26 winner Tralee) and EDDIE SPAGHETTI (winner on debut by 10 lengths at Youghal just 2 days ago).
Bidding opens at 6pm tonight and continues until 6pm on Sunday 10th August. Visit www.greyhoundtrader.com
The preview for the online auction can be seen in full below:
(1) BALLYREGAN CASH
An October 2023 son of Ballymac Cashout and Peters Queen who on his most recent outing (3 weeks ago) won at Limerick by a huge 11 lengths in 28.48 (+20). His first win of his career, this could be the start of an exciting future for Cash who is still a puppy.
(2) BOBCAT BOMBER
A March 2023 son of Dorotas Wildcat and Blastoff Kat, Bomber was similarly a winner on his last outing in Limerick (2 weeks ago) by 4 lengths in 28.69 (+10). A very lightly raced dog for his age, Bomber had previously won at the same venue on debut in 28.82 (+10) whilst he also boasts an impressive 18.76 sprint trial to his name.
(3) CHELMS CHARMER
A June 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet and Billys Diva who was sold for £8000 at the recent Monmore sales having recorded the fastest trial of the day at the sales when stopping the clock in 28.26. Now re-presented for sale, Charmer has been trialling at Yarmouth and is yet to race competitively since the sales.
(4) CHELMS CHLOE
An April 2023 daughter of Coolavanny Hoffa and Another Blonde who again was sold for £8000 at the recent Monmore sales. Chloe has since made a fine account of herself, winning on UK debut in 23.97 at Romford and repeated this winning effort 2 races later. With 28.34 winning form at Cork in Ireland, Chloe could be bought with an eye as a brood for the future.
(5) CLONBRIEN KING
An unraced November 2023 son of Ballymac Cashout and Clonbrien Millie who won an Irish sales trial at Limerick in 29.04 (+10). Given time to settle into his new surroundings since, King is a half-brother to Clonbrien Treaty who is looking to win an unprecedented 3rd Irish St Leger at Limerick this Saturday night.
(6) CLONOON ANSAR
A June 2023 fawn son of Ballyhimikin Jet and Beaming Rosie who has a race win to his name at Shelbourne Park in 28.77. An early paced wide runner, Ansar looks likely to suit venues such as Oxford and Monmore potentially in Open class.
(7) DA BALLERINA
A young May 2024 daughter of Ballymac Kingdom and Ballymac Petula who recored 30.00 in a trial at Tralee just last Tuesday. Open to plenty of improvement with her age, Da Ballerina could be a useful kennel addition with time on her side. Her dam Ballymac Petula is a full-sister to Ballymac Finn.
(8) DARING RAMBO
September 2023 son of Explosive Boy and Daring Maggie who made the semi-final stages of the A4 Time Greyhound Derby at Limerick. En route, Rambo won his 3rd round heat in 28.64 (+10) and he also has two race wins at Waterford since with one being in a time of 28.90.
(9) DEBUT DELIGHT
An Unraced March 2024 son of Good Cody and Dolce Vita who makes his debut in the first race at Dundalk on Friday night. From the famed Townview kennels of Brendan Matthews, Delight comes from the same dam as Antigua Sugar, Table Toppers and Deliverooo to name a few. One to watch.
(10) DOWN TOTHE WIRE
January 2024 son of Airmount Nando and Million Dreams who is a race winner at Shelbourne Park in 28.81. A good run for a January pup who could perhaps be one to target at the £10,000 English Puppy Derby in Towcester.
(11) DROMBEG JET
July 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet and Grangeview Nifty who was recently seen running in the Irish St Leger at Limerick. Despite not making it past the 2nd round, his entry was well warranted having won around the venue in 28.56 a couple weeks prior.
(12) EDDIE SPAGHETTI
An October 2023 son of Grangeview Ten and Kiss An Angel who was a runaway 10 lengths winner on debut at Youghal just 2 days ago in a good time of 29.38 (-30). Showing nice early into the corner, Eddie was never for catching and looks a good open class prospect for the future.
(13) GENEVA BETSY
January 2024 daughter of Broadstrand Bono and Jet Stream Proof who has been coming from off the pace to win both her races to date at Waterford and Newbridge. Should stay the 500m of Towcester no problem which makes her an interesting English Puppy Oaks prospect.
(14) GLENGAR TILLY
An unraced February 2024 daughter of Glengar Bale and Dolls Lady who has qualified in 29.90 at Limerick and 16.76 at Kilkenny. Tilly is a half-sister to many top class Irish performers such as Ballinabola Ed, Ballinabola Una and Hopes Teddy.
(15) PAIN BARRIER
May 2023 son of Ballymac Bolger and Dolce Vita who competed in the final of the €80,000 Con & Annie Kirby Memorial at Limerick for team Matthews. Whilst only claiming the one victory to date, the time was very impressive being 28.15 at Shelbourne Park. His strong running credentials make him an ideal 500m competition greyhound for the UK.
(16) SUNNYSIDE MARV
An August 2023 son of Brett Lee and Ballymac Arminta who was purchased directly from the Ballymac kennels with a glowing reference. Perhaps hasn't lived up to the hype yet with a win yet to come, but has been competing in only Open Races at Newcastle and Sunderland and perhaps a drop down to graded racing could give him that much needed confidence boost to kick on.
(17) THE OTHER GIGI
Unraced January 2024 daughter of Ballymac Best and The Other Riona who is very closely related to the Irish Derby winning brother's Born Warrior and The Other Kobe. Gigi disappointed in her only race to date but is set to run this weekend with a bold showing expected.
(18) TULLIG NAVALNY
Strapping January 2023 son of Droopys Sydney and Hail Cleopatra who won an A1 stake at Tralee just last weekend in a rapid 28.26. A full-brother to Shelbourne Park 600y track record holder Da Bold Falcon, Navalny also won on debut in 28.50 at Limerick.
(19) ZENITH BEAUTY
A July 2022 daughter of Pat C Sabbath and Highview Lauren who has become a regular of late at Romford. Graded at A3 currently, Beauty has been running on a consistent basis since March and has all the credentials of being a greyhound who will pay their keep on the graded scene.
(20) ZENITH DAZZLER
A November 2022 son of Ballymac Cashout and Plain White Tea who similarly has been running with consistency at Romford. Graded A4, Dazzler has often been the bridesmaid but could perhaps benefit from being taken away from Romford for a stiffer venue beyond 400m.
