Greyhound Trader Online Auction Update

There was a strong catalogue of greyhounds in the Greyhound Trader online auction which took place over the weekend.

None more so exciting than Kournikova, who is a bitch graded AA0 in Ireland for her handler Pat Buckley.

A first round Kirby winner as well as a Tralee Juvenile Classic and Race of Champions finalist, the April 2023 daughter of Ballymac Cashout was popular from the off with the bidding making over £12,000 before the end of the first evening.

Despite finishing up at a bid of £15,400 (and then receiving an offer of £17,000 post auction), Kournikova was not sold and will continue to race in Ireland under her current ownership.

Singalong Mick was another from the kennels of Pat Buckley who also proved sought after. An early bid of £11,000 (over the guide price) was placed and stuck over the weekend. An October 2023 son of Deerjet Sydney, he is going to the kennels of Kevin Hutton and will most likely be aimed at the Nottingham Puppy Classic, along with new kennel companion Kranky Drake.

Another dog to sell was Clonroosk Benz ,who went for £6300 after a late bidding war. A dog from the first Irish litter of Australian stud dog Koblenz, Benz had impressed when winning at Limerick in 28.53 and he will be travelling to the UK this week to the kennels of Richard Rees for prominent owner Mark Burridge.

Blastoff Rex was the other greyhound to sell for £3200. A more experienced type, he will likely be joining the open class racing scene in the north of England for his new trainer Dean Blackbird.

Whilst there was plenty of interest in the young Ballymac greyhounds, unfortunately none met the strict reserves in place.

In total 4 greyhounds sold for a total of £21,000.
