Greyhound Trader Yorkshire Sales Auction preview

The Greyhound Trader team head to Doncaster for their 'Yorkshire Sale' on Friday 15th August and another hugely successful day at one of the most friendly and popular tracks in the UK is anticipated.  With a good crowd always in attendance and a good deal of bidding from both at the track and online it's sure to throw up plenty of excitement.

 Gates will open at 9am with trials scheduled to start at 10am and the usual afternoon auction starting approximately 30 minutes after the final trial.  A good breakfast will as usual be available to patrons as will food and drink throughout the day. The card contains the usual array of mainly unraced pups with a sprinkling of lightly raced sorts and as usual the catalogue is previewed in full by Mark Pierrepont 

CUSHIE STEVIE - November 2023 son of Ballymac Cashout and Bombay Pet who has been taking a middle to wide course in his Irish qualifying trials including when running out a 6 length winner of a two dog affair at Enniscorthy recently in 2986.  Dam Pet was an open class winner here in the UK and this her maiden litter have been showing up well during their initial schooling and qualification trials.  Stevie fully expected to make into a nice type for his new connections

CUSHIE MICK - Lightly raced September 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet who is already a two time race winner on Irish soil with victories of 2949 and 2925 around Enniscorthy.  Capable runner off the front or from a little further back he has a likeable attitude and is sure to prove a useful addition to any graded kennel here in the UK.

IVY HILL STELLA - An April 2024 bitch full of promise by Malachi out of Coolavanny Chick.  Breeding that needs absolutely no introduction this young lady has been reared and schooled perfectly by the Noel Hehir team and a huge sales day run is expected.  One both for the track in the immediate future but given her blood lines there is sure to be huge interest from all those with a keen eye for breeding potential.

IVY HILL COBRA - Full brother to Stella detailed above and word is that this lad possesses huge gears.  One to watch on sales day but the sky is the limit for a young greyhound whose breeding speaks for itself.

DEAL FOR TWO - Not a mark on the card of this April 2024 daughter of Good Cody out of the extremely well related Portumna Marina who is a full sister to Barefoot Supremo and a half sister to the likes of Grangeview Ten amongst many other hugely talented performers.  Sales day trial sure to prove informative as to her ability but may just be an eye or two on the bloodlines too.

SHOTS FIRED - July 2023 son of the pacy Blame The Game out of Aayamza Dream who is already a two time winner on Irish soil with victories coming in 2198 for the 400 yard trip at Dundalk and a very decent 2897 around the same venue over 525 yards when leading all the way on his most recent start.  That kind of pace sure to see him winning plenty here in the UK and looks just the type to be landing his new connections a nice early touch or two.

FROM THE ASHES - Stunning unraced fawn bitch who is a February 2024 daughter of Grangeview Ten out of Florence Cake the Drumbo Park Gold Cup champion of 2022.  Hailing from the McCusker team this young lady will have wanted for nothing until this stage and looks sure to attract plenty of attention come sales day at Doncaster.

EVEN BREAK - Super unraced June 2024 puppy prospect by King Elvis out of Avenue Ana who competed in open class in Ireland.  Has been showcasing plenty of ability to the McCusker team during her rearing and schooling and looks a real nice prospect who can do nothing but improve for quite some time to come.

GOOD CHLOE - April 2024 daughter of Good Cody and Portumna Marina who has been reared and schooled to the usual high standards expected of the Kennedy team.  Likeable type who has been demonstrating a real decent level of ability back home so far.  Expected to make into a nice type on the track but given her blood lines she most definitely has plenty of potential as a future brood.

EPIC CONCORDE - Full brother to Good Chloe and this unraced April 2024 lad has been absolutely burning up the gallops back home showcasing a good level of ability to the respected Kennedy team.  Dam Portumna Marina is a full sister to Barefoot Supremo.  Very nice sort who looks sure to go well on sales day.

HES GOT STYLE - March 2024 son of Coolavanny Hoffa and Newinn Peaches who is closely related to many superstar performers including the sensational Newinn Taylor who so memorably emerged victorious in the Irish Derby Final of 2020.  This youngster will arrive well reared and schooled for his new connections and looks sure to be making his mark on UK soil before too long.

BANKSMAN - Full brother to Hes Got Style and no doubts about it this lad has been showing much more ability than his sibling thus far.  Very well thought of individual who is expected to move well on sales day and is sure to attract plenty of attention from all those with a good eye for a promising youngster.  Reared and schooled to the high standards one expects of the Conway team.

EMERS LIZZY - October 2023 daughter of Grangeview Ten who backed up the promise shown in her initial three career starts to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking in 2930 at Cork. Landed a bit of a touch on that occasion and well capable of doing the same here in the UK for new connections.

BALLYROBIN LIZ - January 2024 daughter of Broadstrand Bono and Jet Stream Proof who has looked very much in need of the experience gained in her initial two career races.  Can only improve massively for those and looks certain to progress through the grades here in the UK with a little more time.

RUINTHELONGGAME - Wide running May 2023 son of Droopys Sydney and Blossoms Pet who is a 2161 race winner around Dundalk and has a best of 2925 on the card around the same track for the four bend trip. Will compete in high grade and his wide running style will appeal to many. Hailing from the Brendan Matthews team will obviously arrive with new connections in top shape.

LEAD BY EXAMPLE - Stunning unraced fawn youngster by one of the most talked about up and coming stud dogs in the game Drumantine. His dam Pennys Lauren is a well proven producer of open class performers and hopes are high that this lad who has been showcasing plenty on the famous Townview gallops to Brendan Matthews and the team that he's heading the same way.

TOMMYS SKIPPY - February 2024 son of Bull Run Bolt out of Liscanny Skippy who produced some pacy strong running sorts in her debut litter to Grangeview Ten. Tommys Skippy ran out a four length winner of the only trial so far on his card when recording 1948 around Limerick.

TOMMYS RORY - Unraced January 2024 son of Iconic Rory out of Painters Cabbage who counts the super sprinter Flashing Willow amongst his close relations. Rory has just two trials on the card with an initial solo effort of 1929 at Limerick followed up when winning a two dog trial at the same track by 5 lengths in 1945.

RISE UP JENNY - April 2024 daughter of Deerjet Sydney and Beamingboomerang who was a strong running four and six bend open class performer on the track and has been producing plenty of open class offspring since retirement to the breeding paddocks. Stunning looking fawn bitch without a mark on the card expected to make into a real nice type here in the UK.

FLASHING MOMENTS - Unraced March 2024 daughter of Good News out of Moments Of Magic who was a strong running four and six bend open class winner here in the UK and memorable landed the category one BGBF Puppy Cup Final at Towcester back in 2021. Reports from back home in Ireland have been promising but also indicate that she can only improve for quite sometime to come. Interesting sort and sure to be on a fair few lists as possible new recruits.

MALBAY THOR - Strapping 80lb son of Ballyhimikin Jet out of Oakview Brae who looked like competing in many of the sports top competitions before injury early in her career brought about retirement. Thor has trialled in moderately thus far but given his large frame can only improve for experience and looks sure to make into a solid grader over both two and four bends.

TROMORA CRACKER - Unraced September 2023 son of Ballymac Cashout and Tromora Rocket whose wide running style is sure to make plenty of appeal especially given he's shown plenty of pace in his trials to date including a more than decent 1802 around Cork in his most recent appearance. Looks ideal for the likes of sales venue Doncaster and sure to be competing at a high level.

EMERS GOLDIE - Lightly raced September 2023 daughter of Grangeview Ten who showed plenty of early and middle pace on route to a 2935 win around Clonmel early last month. That kind of pace will come in very useful and she looks sure to be landing new connections a nice touch in the not too distant future.

SILVER SPEC - Lightly raced September 2023 bitch who is yet to win in five career starts but has shown glimpses of ability and could very well do with a fresh start. Looks the type that may well grade in handily before moving through the grades.

USE THE HEAD - Unraced April 2024 dog pup from the Ballymac Anton and Ballymac Notoyou litter. This youngster is held in the highest regard and is expected to make into open class with a little bit of time and experience under his belt. Reared and schooled to a very high standard by the Conway team he's not one that will be coming cheaply but he's a young pup of great promise. Dam Ballymac Notoyou has already produced some very pacy pups and this lad could eventually prove the best of them yet.

LIKE MAGIC - Full unraced sister to Use The Head detailed above and no doubting she's not in anywhere near the same kind of class. That said this young lady will arrive with new connections in great shape and will know her job that's for sure so likely she'll turn into a very nice addition to any graded kennel here in the UK.

FAST TRACK LADY - Not a mark on the card of this June 2024 lady by King Elvis out of the open class bitch Avenue Ava. Hailing from the McCusker team this youngster will arrive fit and ready to get straight into action. Has been showing up well in her schooling trials to date and is expected to be competing at a decent level wherever she ends up come the end of sales day at Doncaster.

LONG BATTLE - As with the majority hailing from the McCusker team this youngster will arrive at the sale without a mark on his card. A son of Dromana Bucko out of Teena an open class winning sister to Rathdown Molly who won many opens and reached the final of the Bar One Sprint at Dundalk in 2023. Talented young pup and should be winning plenty of races over the coming months.

LING LING - May 2023 daughter of Droopys Sydney out of Blossoms Pet and is already a two time race winner in Ireland including an early pace always led victory around Dundalk two runs ago in 29 seconds exactly. Arriving from the Matthews team this young lady will be fit and ready to do her job at the first time of asking. Nice type who will be competing at a high graded level here in the UK.

AUDIENCE - Unraced March 2024 son of Good Cody out of the well proven brood Dolce Vita who counts many top open and competition class performers amongst her illustrious offspring including the likes of Table Toppers who landed the category one Blue Riband Final at Towcester earlier this year. Reared and schooled perfectly as you would expect by Brendan Matthews and his team at the famed Townview kennels set up in Newry this lad is highly thought of and is sure to be in some demand come sales day.

GOOD BERRY - Hailing from the Kennedy team this unraced April 2024 daughter of Good Cody and Ballymac Berry has been pleasing the team at home in recent months with some eye-catching work both on the gallop and in her schooling trials. Dam Berry was a super open class performer on the track both in Ireland and here in the UK where she reached the final of the Angel Of The North at Newcastle in 2020. Responsible for some nice pups since retirement including half sister Savana Bo Peep who landed the Bet Goodwin Maiden Sprint Final at Oxford earlier this year.

GOOD BOBCAT - Not a mark on the card of this April 2024 son of Good Cody and Portumna Marina but the breeding immediately catches the eye and word from back home is that this youngster possesses plenty of ability which will stand him in extremely good stead here in the UK. All the hard work done having been reared and schooled perfectly by the Kennedy team he's likely to attract much attention from all those keen on adding a talented and totally unexposed young pup to their kennels.

NOWSNOTTHETIME - Another unraced member of the April 2024 litter of Ballymac Anton and Ballymac Notoyou. Brindle pup who has been pleasing during schooling trials but given his age can only improve for quite some time yet. On the day sales trial will be of interest but likely this stunning brindle pup will draw plenty of admiring glances.

LETTER OF LAW - Another unraced member of the April 2024 litter of Ballymac Anton and Ballymac Notoyou. Brindle pup who has been pleasing during schooling trials but given his age can only improve for quite some time yet.  Reports from back home suggest this young lad has a terrific will to win and a great attitude to his work and will be a firm favourite at whichever kennel he ends up.

MARLFIELD KLOPP - September 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet who has plenty of experience and looks just the type to get his job done early on.  Two time race winner in Ireland including when showing great determination as recently as June to come from behind at Clonmel and win in 2903.

SALEEN ECHO - Full sister to Cove detailed above with very similar comments applying. Not much between this pair at this stage and would make a nice double purchase for a graded kennel looking to add a couple of young bitches to their string.

CONTEMPT - Extremely promising March 2024 son of Good Cody out of the open and competition class producing dam Dolce Vita. Emphatic 8 length winner of the only trial currently on his card in a promising 1950 around Shelbourne Park this lad is expected to go well on sales day and hailing from the Matthews team will be no surprise to see going on to good things here in England.

ABSURD - April 2023 bitch by Signet Ace out of Getawaywithit. Litter mates have been competing in decent class and though this lady has been held up in beginning her career she made a belated debut at Shelbourne on Thursday and was desperately unlucky not to make it a winning one.  Just touched off in a close photo finish in a winning time of 2951 she's fully expected to leave that form way behind in the coming weeks.  As with all runners from the Matthews team will arrive in super condition with her new connections.

TAKE TOP SPOT - Unraced May 2024 bitch by Dromana Bucko out of Teena. Reports from the McCusker team have been complimentary about a bitch expected to win many races here in the UK over the coming months. Teena is full sister to Rathdown Molly who reached the Bar One Sprint Final at Dundalk in 2023 and an open class winner in her own right.

HOLD A DREAM - Full brother to Fast Track Lady. Difficult to know how good this lad is. Has schooled well but giving every indication that there is a mountain of improvement to come. Reared and schooled perfectly by Team McCusker his new connections will be assured of receiving a well rounded youngster into their kennel.

KNOCKTOO KAREN - Wide running September 2022 daughter of Dorotas Wildcat and Razldazl Emily. Moderate enough level of form in four career races to date but will prove a useful addition to any graded kennel with her wide running style sure to attract interest. Will without doubt pay her way for new connections.

HOWS THAT - Super impressive debut winner at Shelbourne Park on Thursday evening coming from behind to win going away by fully 8 lengths in 2919.  This October 2023 son of Magical Bale out of a nicely bred daughter of Coolavanny Spice couldn't have done much more but he still has plenty of time to improve and that can only mean one thing and that is a career potentially in open class.  His dam Three Canons reached the finals of both the Irish Puppy Oaks and the Juvenile Derby back in 2022 so no surprise to see this lad has plenty of pace.

DROOPYS FREEBIE - The Droopys team have been sending over some quality offerings to the sales here in the UK and this March 2024 son of Droopys Flytline and Droopys Hunch looks another. Hunch herself was a top open / competition class performer on the track in her own right reaching the final of the Juvenile Derby in 2019 and counts the likes of full brother Broadstrand Bono amongst her close relations. Since retiring to the breeding paddocks has herself produced open and competition class with regularity including but most certainly not limited to last years Irish Oaks Finalist Droopys Edel. A top prospect from a team renowned for classy pups Freebie won't be coming as his name suggests and it will take fairly deep pockets to secure him but he will have many hanging around until late in the day in an effort to see that come the end of the sale he's heading to their kennels ahead of what promises to be a hugely exciting career here in the UK.

DROOPYS PACKAGE - Full brother to Freebie and another with a huge career ahead of him. This trial will be amongst if not the most eagerly anticipated of the day and that's with very good reason. A pair of well bred potential stars that you will not want to miss out on.

CAPPA DARRAGH - Unraced April 2024 dog from the mating between Deerjet Sydney and Beamingboomerang who has well proven herself in the breeding paddocks upon retirement. Herself a strong running four and six bend open class performer this lad should be well at home around tough galloping circuits such as sales venue Doncaster and he's expected to make up into a high class sort

CAPPA GRACIE - Full sister to Darragh detailed above this lady has looked in need of a stern test of stamina in her schooling trials to date. How far she'll stay is still open to question but given her breeding it could very well be a case of the further the better.

DROOPYS ITCH - October 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet and Droopys Gifted. Full brother Droopys Poker is setting the tracks alight here in the UK with open race wins already on the card at Monmore and Derby venue Towcester. Will be interesting to see how this lad performs as he was very highly thought of during his schooling but has maybe not quite lived up to that in two races to date. Plenty of time on his side though and might he be one that slips through the net ?

MOVE OVER CONNIE - Open class prospect who landed the only race of his life so far in a super 2870 around Cork. This son of Move Over Cha and Millroad Zoey came from behind to win by 3 ½ lengths and looks tailor made for tracks of a galloping nature such as sales venue Doncaster. Could be anything but this lad looks like attracting many admirers and will no doubt see people hanging around until the very end of the day in an effort to secure his services.

D) CODING another member of the April 2024 litter of Good Cody and Ballymac Berry and another with super promise.

E) CONTENT is an unraced March 2024 member of the Good Cody and Dolce Vita litter.  Highly thought of youngster who will be campaigning at a high level once gaining much needed experience.

F) EPIC COMMAND is an unraced April 2024 son of Good Cody and Portumna Marina.  Difficult to know where this youngster will end up for he is so lightly schooled but one to keep an eye on that is for certain.

G) SPICE BAG is another of the April 2024 pups by Good Cody and Ballymac Berry.  Will improve for many months yet

H) TWISTABLINDEYE is from the Blame The Game litter out of Aayamza Dream of July 2023 and is a two time race winner in Ireland including a dominant 6 ½ length success around Dundalk last time out in 2155.
