Hutton holds a strong hand at Oxford

Kevin Hutton has half of the remaining field ahead of the BGBF British Bred Oaks semi-finals at Oxford on Saturday.

The locally-based handler qualified six of his runners from the first round and has a very strong hand in the Category Two competition, especially in the first semi-final.

Four of the six in that contest represent Hutton, including heat winner Coppice Lottie, who stayed on strongly to touch off reopposing kennelmate Union Blizzard last Saturday,

Miss Kubelik and Signet Nayla also line up in that race for Hutton, although the latter was no match for Bang On Edith at the weekend.

Nathan Hunt’s charge posted the fastest time of the night when dominating her heat in 26.67 and she will have plenty of supporters against the Hutton quartet.

The second quickest on Saturday was Union Rose, who won well in 26.76 and she goes in the second semi-final for John Hall.

Hutton is represented by Dreamin Francis, who go up late to deny the reopposing Signet Maisie at the weekend, and Union Piper, who was second to Bang On Edith.

Three will qualify from each semi-final and the £,3000-to-the-winner final takes place the following week on Saturday 16th August.
