Ricky Holloway delighted with the Star Pelaw hurdle setup
There were three hurdle trials at Star Pelaw on Thursday night with Ricky Holloway sending three runners up to the track for solo trials on a fact finding mission. The main aim was to test out the sighting of the hurdles, with Holloway delighted with how the track has been set up.
In an interview afterwards with racing manager Dave Gray, Holloway said “I think it’s absolutely perfect, I’m totally amazed the way you’ve done it. Credit to the staff here, to Ben Keith and everyone to set this up, you’ve started off hurdle racing in the best fashion possible”
It is all a new experience for Gray as well who is yet to oversee any hurdles racing in his years as a racing manager. A longhand ambition for Star Pelaw, the first step has been a success, and while there is a lot of water that will have to pass under the bridge before there is anything properly competitive over hurdles, it is at least the first one cleared.
