Irish Performance of the Week - 18 February 2025
We round up the top performances from all of the Irish greyhound tracks over the past seven days to highlight the best runs.

Irish Performance of the Week
Shelbourne was not running quick enough at the weekend to be conducive to smart times but Carrick Aldo was still impressive when clocking 28.55 in his semi-final of the Tote Gold Cup. He had been knocked over in the semis last year, deservedly making another final as one of the most consistent performers out there.
He was one of two back-to-back winners last week, the other was Foyle Emma at Kilkenny. She should head into the Blackstone Kennels A2 Final on Friday as the one that they all have to beat.
Grouchos Blake laid down an early marker at Limerick with the current fastest of the year over 525y. It was a clear career-best from the son of Magical Bale, with only 14 quicker times in the whole of 2024 than his 28.17.
Speaking of a career best, Earn Perks pinged around Tralee this week in 17.39. She has not had a lot of racing in recent times, with this her first run since May of last year. In May 2023 she threw a litter to Sentimental Lad, one of those pups winning at Tralee the week before. Just two weeks prior to officially becoming a veteran, it was a remarkable run.
The youngest of the award winners this week was Born Braver at Thurles. The June 23 whelp is a litter brother to Left Corner Back who has already displayed his talents when making the final of the Good Cody @ Stud Unraced at Enniscorthy in December. It's clearly a litter to keep on the right side of.
