Irish Performance of the Week - 6 May 2025
We take a look back over the past seven days at the top performance at each of the Irish greyhound racing tracks.

Irish Performance of the Week
His win in the final of the Shelbourne 600 at the weekend was enough to see Ballyhooly Bruno take the award for Shelbourne. He stepped up on his time with every round and once his main rival and winner of the other semi-final had found trouble at an early stage, it was set up for the Tom O'Neill-trained performer to go on and win.
There were four heats of the Newbridge Derby with Canya Steve producing a personal best to come out on top. His 29.76 is the first run sub 30 so far in 2025 and was only a single spot slower than the best of last year. The track record is 29.50 which has stood since May 2014.
Kilkenny saw the opening round of the Track Champion Open Unraced where Carrick Scholsey made an impressive debut. The winning time of 28.68 is just four spots off the quickest of the year so far and only 22 spots off the track record. His dam is a half-sister to Droopys Clue, Droopys Flotilla et al, with this her first litter.
The sole staying winner of the week was In Good time at Limerick. The Tralee 525y track record holder and Produce Stakes runner-up from 2024 stepped up to six bends for the first time. His bare time won't worry the staying stars but his four-bend pace will take plenty out of their comfort zone to the fifth bend if connections decide to continue over this far.
Ballinabola Emma took over the baton at Enniscorthy this week from her litter brother Ballinabola Jake. There was also one repeat winner on the week which was Klassy Shoe at Drumbo.
