Flying times again around Ireland

It was the second round of the Bat 1 Racing Irish Laurels over the weekend where Droopys Monk produced the best run of the night. He is well suited to this venue, following up his win in the first round, but he also started his career here with a trip to the final of the Denis Linehan Solicitors Open Unraced. Still a puppy, he has only had 13 starts in total.

Droopys Crispy was a touch unlucky not to win the award last week for her sub 28-second run around Shelbourne but she takes it this time for her second on the bounce. She kicked off her career with a win in the Brownstown Tango Open Unraced, unbeaten in that Newbridge competition as she was through this Paddy Merriman Memorial A1. Her win is the fifth quickest of the year over the 525y trip.

Another Droopys to do the business in the POW list was Droopys Honor who clocked the second fastest 525y time of the year so far at Kilkenny, a single spot off the top slot. As is the case with the other pair, there are very limited miles on the clock with her, with the litter sister to Gav Nificent only 10 starts in.

At Clonmel there was a quickest sprint time of the year courtesy of Fagans Zippi. No, your eyes are not deceiving you, she is a daughter of Head Bound, one of two on the list this week by the December 2000 whelp. This slick success was on career start number six, continuing the theme of the week.

There is another POW from Pomba Angie at Newbridge as she rounded out her unbeaten run through the Bosco Gleeson Memorial A2/A3. Her 28.54 tied the best time at the track over 525y this year, adding to her effort in the first round that is the fourth fastest of the year. Incidentally, the greyhound with the third fastest is a certain Droopys Crispy!
