Irish Performance of the Week - 8 July 2026
We take a look over the best runs from across Ireland last week with some quick times produced at a number of tracks.

Flying times across the country
There were some very smart runs last week, led by Wi Can James who dipped under 28 seconds at Shelbourne. His 27.88 is 'only' good enough for the second fastest of the year so far but on just the sixth start of his career, it was a stunning run. Credit also to Ballymac Kamala who added the fastest 550y time of 2026 to her leading 525y effort.
We mentioned two weeks ago that Supa Mac became the first dog in more than two decades to break the 29-second barrier at Mullingar. Last week he did it again, just one spot slower than his spectacular performance from a fortnight back. He is yet to show anything remotely close to that level of form at any other track but he has only had seven starts in total, so there is plenty of time.
Crafty Coolio is fast becoming one of the most talked about dogs in the country as he extended the unbeaten start to his career to four. The opening round heats of the Bar One Sprint come up on Saturday, July 18, and he is going to be a very interesting contender for the €20,000 to the winner competition.
At Tralee there was an impressive run from Impact Cooper who produced the fourth quickest time of the year so far over 525y. His win will not do Links Maverick any harm as a sire who has had a fair few open winners over here, and he is a half-brother to Magical Kuba who was runner-up in the Kirby back in 2022.
The Time Club Derby came to a conclusion at Limerick with Kerryroad Al producing a slick 28.46 in the A4 decider. The end of a six-week slog, it was a win in three of the last four rounds for him, coming though when it mattered most in the final.
