Droopys Plunge Named Greyhound Racing UK Greyhound of the Month for June
Droopys Plunge has been named Greyhound Racing UK Greyhound of the Month for June 2025 following his victory in the Star Sports & TRC English Greyhound Derby. Trainer Patrick Janssens accepted the award at Hove on Saturday night ahead of the greyhound’s return to trial action at Nottingham tonight in preparation for the upcoming Arena Racing Company Select Stakes.


Droopys Plunge Receives June’s Greyhound of the Month Award
The Greyhound Writers Association has announced that the Greyhound Racing UK Greyhound of the Month award for June 2025 has been awarded to Droopys Plunge.
Trained by Patrick Janssens, the standout son of Droopys Sydney was successful in the final of the Star Sports & TRC English Greyhound Derby at Towcester on June 14, staying on strongly to claim the £175,000 top prize.
The award was presented to Patrick and Cheryl Janssens by Gone To The Dogs – Live! presenter Dani Jackson on Saturday night at Hove.
Droopys Plunge, meanwhile, was back home resting in preparation for his return to track action tonight—his first four-bend trial since the Derby final—at Nottingham.
Select Stakes Next for Plunge
Tonight’s trial is part of his preparation for the upcoming Arena Racing Company Select Stakes, which takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25 at Nottingham.
The Greyhound Writers Association will select the field for the £12,500-to-the-winner event on August 20, with the official draw scheduled for August 21.
