Open race aplenty across two cards at Romford and Sunderland including the semi-finals of the Coral Romford Puppy Cup.

The first semi-final at 8.01pm sees new superstar on the block Magical Luka line up from trap five looking to continue where he left off seven days ago, breaking the track record in round one. He is two decent breaks away from winning the competition so it is impossible to look past him this evening with Vermithor in trap one chasing him home in second to qualify for next week’s decider.

Semi-final two sees Droopys Alldeway well drawn in trap one at 8.19pm. He was beaten when well fancied last week by Bowmers Sheeran who lines up in trap four in this race but I fancy Droopys Alldeway to reverse the form from a good draw with the rapidly improving Aero Najem to qualify in second for trainer Richie Taberner.

Semi-final three is a much more competitive affair at 8.36pm. Trap five Crafty Santino found herself over nine lengths behind Jacktavern Don on August 29 in a trial stakes and they re-oppose today from traps four and five. I am with Crafty Santino to get the better of Jacktavern Don on this occasion. She has not been able to show her true colours yet and did remarkably well to qualify last week after stumbling out the traps, so a clear run for Crafty Santino can see her beat Jacktavern Don.

Also on the card Coral Golden Sprint winner Union Rebel looks to make it back to back victories over C&D in the Greyhounds Make Great Pets Standard over 400m at 9.28pm. At 9.11pm Alright Gordy can get the better of his rivals in an ultra competitive 750m race the PGR On Sky Sports Racing Marathon and at 7.44pm Missile One can confirm the form with Gary The Arb in the Donate Old Duvets For Retired Greyhounds over 575m.

At Sunderland, trap one Cunnigar King takes all the beating in the Arena Racing Company Maiden Standard Final at 8.56pm. He is capable of breaking the 27-second barrier and has chunks of time in hand with his rivals, so a level break and clear run sees him victorious. The following race at 9.14pm is the Arc Winner Of One Sprint Final over 261m where a repeat of last week's heat success should see Ballymac Deboss in trap six lead and make all.

Stonepark Hoffa should make no mistakes in the Arc Dual Distance Stakes Heat One over 261m at 7.41pm and later on Romeo Alonso can continue where he left off by landing the spoils in the Arena Racing Company Stayers Heat Two at 10.04pm over 640m.
