Joe Conneely's Greyhound Racing Tips for Friday, August 22, 2025
Friday night's greyhound racing tips come from Romford and Sunderland. Joe Conneely has looked at the action to find his three best bets for the night.

The weekly opens at Romford are back alongside a handful at Sunderland and also the start of the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby at Shelbourne Park with UK sensation Proper Heiress flying the flag for team GB alongside Ballymac Axel (runs tomorrow) and So Cool. Good luck to the three UK runners competing in the Derby over the next six weeks.
***8.54 Romford - Gothic Kitty (4pts) 11/10
**9.11 Romford - Yahoo Lolls (2pts) 11/2
*10.22 Sunderland - Toddys Tank (2pts) EVS
Friday night Best Bet
The nap of the evening is trap four Gothic Kitty in the Swifty At 50 Stakes over 750m at 8.54pm. She has not won a race since June 21 but is consistently running well in defeat behind the likes of Alright Gordy, Bright Jewel and Capel Rose who is the only runner to repoppose this evening.
If Gothic Kitty traps on terms, she should have the legs of her rivals to the bend to lead, and from there she can pull away to build up a big enough advantage. There will not be an Alright Gordy or Bright Jewel chasing her home this evening, so as long as Gothic Kitty traps well, she can take advantage of a drop in class to get the better of Capel Rose.
Next Best Tip
The next best is trap one Yahoo Lolls in the Romford Friday Night 500 Standard Final over 400m at 9.11pm. Draws win races and Yahoo Lolls is drawn extremely well along the fence to take advantage with Bacon Roll in trap two who looks set to move off towards the middle of the track which could cause Piemans Goalie in three a few issues. Yahoo Lolls needs to break better than she has in recent weeks, but at the prices available she is worth taking a chance on to make the most of a favourable draw.
Other Friday night selections
We head to Sunderland for third bet of the evening where trap two Toddys Tank can make it four from four in the Arena Racing Company Standard Division Two at 10.22pm over 450m. He has only had a handful of races in the UK but has victories over sprint trips and four bends at Newcastle and Sunderland that shows his versatility.
Singalong Rex was over seven lengths behind him at Newcastle last time out and he lines up against him in trap one and although Toddys Tank was in trap five on that occasion, trap two should not be an issue as long as he traps on terms, and if doing so he should lead and win.
Proper Heiress lines up at 9.06pm in heat seven of the Boylesports Irish Derby from trap two in a competitive looking race against the likes of Sunshine Sioux, Phoenix Memphis and Ballinabola Joe with So Cool now trained by Pat Buckley taking his chance from trap six in heat eleven at 10.08pm against the likes of Bubbly Charger, Hackney Corner and Ballymac Tibet.
