Three Romford tips for tonight

A full open race card at Romford this evening as well as four opens at Sunderland, including two minor finals.

The Nap of the evening is trap three Droopys Will in the Retired Greyhounds Love Sofas Winner Of One Standard over Romford’s 400m trip at 7.11pm. He ran well in defeat last week where Dashaway Daisy got loose off a flying 3.56 sectional. However, he only got beaten just over a length where he was flying home, and although he would prefer to be in trap one, he might be able to break better from a middle draw ,where if doing so and getting a clear run, he should go on to win a race of this nature comfortably.

The next best is trap three Shaz Starlite in the second heat of the Romford Friday Night 500 Standard over 400m at 7.44pm. He is an inconsistent breaker but when he does it right he is very fast as shown last week in A1 company when clocking 23.86, winning by over four lengths with the runner-up scoring next time out. However, the run before he was beaten five lengths by Carters Buddy who lines up in trap six this evening, but he did not come away like he can. He has every chance to lead here, if coming way on level terms, so I will be with Shaz Starlite to pop out and make all.

The third bet of the evening is trap one Cocans Express in the Poppy Benbow’s Birthday Bash over 400m at 8.01pm. This is a more than winnable race for Conans Express who has gone through the grades well in recent months and looks well drawn to run well here. Jan Jan in trap two will move off from that draw who could cause King Bono in three a couple of problems and that should allow Conans Express a clear run up the inside to take advantage. He was won two of his last three starts over two and four bends so if he continue that rich vein of form, he can break his maiden four bend tag this evening.
