Open races at Romford and Sunderland this evening to kickstart the weekend.
The nap of the evening runs in the final race at Romford the Jess Day Birthday Stakes over 575m where trap three Golden Palace is looking to continue where he left off last week by adding to his C&D record. He needs to get a clear run into the race by turning with Cree Bono and Dower Duchess and if he does and gets the run required he is a strong running sort over this trip and should have too much for his rivals this evening.
The next best is trap five Droopys Prefect in the Friday Night 500 Maiden Stayers Final at 9.11pm. He was a length behind Bombay The Joker in the heats seven days ago but showed a lot of pace in behind after a tardy exit and early bumping so if he can brush up on his trapping and get into the race earlier behind Bombay The Joker and Davo You Go, he can show his capabilities to pick up a first win over the short six bends.
The third bet of the evening is trap four Droopys Manowar in the Friday Night 500 Standard Heat Two at 7.44pm. He takes a drop in class this evening where a level break should see him lead into the first bend and from there should be race over. He is more than capable of clocking extremely fast times when he gets things his own way and if doing so tonight can go onto win comfortably.
At Sunderland, Sunnyside Broxi will be looking to avenge last week's disappointing elimination in the third round of the Star Sports/TRC Greyhound Derby by taking the Arena Racing Company Stayers over 640m at 8.37pm. Division One of the Arena Racing Company Puppy at 7.41pm can go to Sunnyside Jayden with Lion Heart taking the Arena Racing Company 450 Division One at 9.48pm.
