Joe's Romford Tips

***8.36 Romford - Bacon Roll (4pts) 9/4
**7.44 Romford - Indian Floyd (3pts) 7/2
*9.28 Romford - Droopys Will (2pts) 7/4

A full open race card at Romford this evening with four different distances in play. 225m, 400m, 575m and a 750m race.

The nap of the evening is trap six Bacon Roll in the Future Of Racing : PGR TV Bitches over 400m at 8.36pm. She is well drawn in six with Yahoo Maizy in trap five and Bedrock Bella in four who will be moving in, so as long as Bacon Roll can avoid Yahoo Maizy the race should suit. There could be a coming together between Chelms Chloe, Yahoo Megan and Bedrock Bella as well as Calypso Moon in one and with Bacon Roll’s strong running style over this trip, she could find herself in front earlier than expected if avoiding Yahoo Maizy.

The next best is trap four Indian Floyd in the second heat of the Maiden Stayers competition over 575m at 7.44pm. She has some solid lines of form over C&D behind some nice dogs including So Cool and Heres Ringo so this looks a slight drop in class albeit she is in with an odds on chance in Zenith Magic who steps up in trip for the first time competitively after a more than satisfactory trial. If Indian Floyd can lead which she should, Zenith Magic is not guaranteed the clearest of runs so I would fancy Jason Gornall’s bitch to keep pulling off the front where a 35.50 run would be more than enough to win the race if Zenith Magic gets held up.

The third bet of the evening is trap one Droopys Will in the Greyhounds Make Great Pets Winner Of One over 400m at 9.28pm. He is ideally drawn on the inside with middle runner Aero Walsh in trap two who is almost certain to move off towards the centre of the track giving Droopys Will all the room in the world to take advantage. He has been running well in defeat since his sole victory at Central Park in a sprint and trialled over this evenings C&D last week clocking 24.11. If he traps on terms he can find himself in front of Dashaway Daisy off the second bend who looks the main danger to the selection.
